I retired from the Walgreens company after 25 years and they gave me nothing when I retired. When I started with the company they promised us insurance rates after retirement comparable to current employees with low employee co-pays and as of today they are no longer...

If it makes you feel any better, CVS doesn't care about its former employees either. As a former CVS employee I was discarded like a piece of trash.

Walgreens - Appointment Schedule Review from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Walgreens has gotten so big that they are anything but your local pharmancy, there attention to details and customers is poor at best. Walked in from urgent care, handed them a script. They asked me if tomorrow was ok, I told them no I needed it filled as soon as possible. They then told me to come back in 3 hours, I told them I was in pain and would wait. They said 15 minutes...a half hour later, I had to give them all the info agin, they said it would be just a few minutes more...about 20 minutes and they seemed annoyed at me and I still don't have my script filled. Been sitting here for about an hour...they really don't care and there is no sense of urgency.

Agreed. Especially if they tell you it will take 3 hours.

Don't sit there and bug them every 20-30 minutes.

Obviously they have a lot of people to worry about and yeah you may be in pain, but someone else may need their medication or die. You might not care about that but I can bet you the pharmacy and that person sure do.

What the five year old that wrote this review needs to do is realize that she is not the only one that is having her prescriptions filled and she needs to mature some and wait her turn.

seriously?? sometimes they are super busy and not only have to ring people up, but answer questions, fill meds, call doctors, work drive thru and many other issues like checking meds and making sure there are no med interactions..and sometimes people just have a bad and busy day.

it happens..

i dont see why this person would seriously now harm you because you chose to act a fool.. now if they gave you wrong meds, thats a whole different story, but from what you have wrote here, it dont seem like anything bad happened other then someone being busy and you drove right on up to a store to yell at someone"because of who you are"

I bought a loadable MasterCard from Wal- Green for my son who was traveling across country to use for gas .When he used it the 1st time for 40.00 all was well .When he tried to use it the 2nd time it was declined When he called them he was informed by a Wal Green rep at the 1-800 that they were holding the rest for possible pending charges! What pending chgs??? he only charged/used 40.00.They then told him it would take 10 days to release the remaining balance!! I called them and got the same story so I told them that I wanted to load more $$ and they informed me I couldn't until he received a new card in the mail!

What people don't realize is Walgreens DOES NOT make any money off these cards. They have come out with the Balance Financial Card and I don't know if this is the one your talking about.

Also customers do not bother to look into how the cards work BEFORE purchasing them.

In recent years, scam upon scam up to but not limited to money laundering has occured so that is why Walgreens has strict guidelines and just in recent weeks has changed Green Dot to where you have to present an ID to get one.

There is also a NO REFUND policy on these cards and you have to take it up with the actual company represented by the card and not Walgreens.

These cards are definitely convenient for some. But if you don't know anything about how they work(like the person that wrote the above complaint) I suggest you look into that BEFORE getting one..........

1st please don't insult my intelligence. Any company who has or is in business doesn't sell anything with out making a profit that is called BUSINESS something you, I can see you know nothing about.

I assume that you must work or be affiliated with Wal Green to make such a comment.

Hopefully You are not their spokesperson for their on- line reviews or their are in a world of trouble.

I will tell you that I did my homework on this so called card you clam Wal- Green doesn't get any kick back for... It's Wal-Green holding the $$$.These cards are a joke... even the rep for Wal-Green stated that she doesn't know why happened ...

however she will write up a ticket for it...

So don't tell me they have nothing to do with it, they have everything to do with it. Wal Green purchased these cards ,sell these cards, get a kick back from the sale of these cards & make a profit from these cards.

When they decided to sell them in their store's they took on the responsibility...

Perhaps they should have 'tested' them out on their own kids... 1,000 miles away, stranded without the use of their "pre paid Master Card from Wal Green..

and be told by Wal Green rep "I will write up a ticket for it"....

Yea that will make it all better...

Any card that says it is re-=loadable, you put the initial amount on it but to load more money on it you have to first register the card and a new card with your name on it will come in the mail, that is the one that money can be added to, not on the original card (doesn't matter where the card is purchased, if it states re-loadable that' how it works). It doesn't matter if it's a Walgreen Financial card or a Green Dot or a Visa, if it says it is re-loadable, then it has to be registered either online or over the phone, and a new card with your name printed on it will be mailed to you, the printed card is the only card that money can be loaded on and with ID, unless it is done online and with the card number, etc.

And it doesn't matter what store it was purchased at, all of these re=loadable cards are this way, it is supposed to help prevent fraud so they can't use them for money laundering.

Yes, I worked for Walgreens for a few years, and it can be confusing, I agree, but the laws have changed to hopefully to protect the consumer.

it has nothing to do with insulting you, Walgreen's makes no money on the purchase of Greendot cards, just as they don't make money on dairy products they sell. not everything is about making money its about having what the customers want.

I do understand the frustration this has caused and it horrible for you to go through this, i do apologize on there behalf cause i know they will never do it them selves. i don't know the exact reason for them holding the funds but i'm pretty sure it has to do with asset protection with all the fraud and scams going around all these companies have lost millions so there taking steps to protect them selves from future loss.

Walgreens - Service Refusal Review from Darien, Illinois

Walgreens LPGA Holly Hill FL, went in to fill husbands narcotic script, been getting for 7 years. Dropped it off, pharmacist refused to fill, he tells us U don't have insurance so won't fill. He says Walgreens policy for last 18 months is won't fill any narcotics if u r a cash paying customer. Tells us no pharmacy in FL will fill without insurance. We go 3 miles down road to Walgreens on Nova and Granada fill with no problems, treated with respect. My husband has degenerative spine, nerve damage and ruptured discs ( MRI's and medical records going back 7 ysr.) He didn't ask for this disease or disability, he inherited it. He was at Walgreens today, overheard a man (60 yrs old), pharmacist refused to fill his narcotics after giving him the run around for 10 days. This pharmacist thinks he is a prescription God or something. I understand some people are addicts and can manipulate Dr's, but stop judging everyone that way. My husband would do anything not to be chained to a pill and his disability. This pharmacist needs to be fired.

Walgreens - Finn E-cigarette

I am very upset. Please instruct your employees the difference between the refills for the Finn E- cigarette and the basic Finn E-cigarette starter pack. They have sold me the basic starter pack twice after specifically asking for refills. This is an expensive item and they need to know what they are selling. I now own two extra E-cigarettes without the refills that make them work! This makes me very mad and it is very very expensive. As I said, please instruct your employees the difference between these two items if you are going to sell them. I do hope you will address this complaint.

If you knew when you paid for it that it was a starter kit, then WHY did you purchase it??????? You obviously knew the difference in product and price............This is YOUR OWN STUPIDITY!!!!!!!!!!!

What really needs to happen is to have reps from these e-cig companies because we're just given these things to put up for sale. No explanation, no nothing.

Can't expect anyone at the store, employee or management, to have any idea how it works.

I've gone to websites and still hardly understand it all. We certainly need instruction from someone, and who best than someone from representing the e-cig companies.
