Walgreens - Appointment Schedule Review from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Walgreens has gotten so big that they are anything but your local pharmancy, there attention to details and customers is poor at best. Walked in from urgent care, handed them a script. They asked me if tomorrow was ok, I told them no I needed it filled as soon as possible. They then told me to come back in 3 hours, I told them I was in pain and would wait. They said 15 minutes...a half hour later, I had to give them all the info agin, they said it would be just a few minutes more...about 20 minutes and they seemed annoyed at me and I still don't have my script filled. Been sitting here for about an hour...they really don't care and there is no sense of urgency.

Agreed. Especially if they tell you it will take 3 hours.

Don't sit there and bug them every 20-30 minutes.

Obviously they have a lot of people to worry about and yeah you may be in pain, but someone else may need their medication or die. You might not care about that but I can bet you the pharmacy and that person sure do.

What the five year old that wrote this review needs to do is realize that she is not the only one that is having her prescriptions filled and she needs to mature some and wait her turn.

Review from Lebanon, Indiana

Went to Lebanon, IN Walgreens 9/2/14 @ 8:50 pm. (I thought they closed at 10:00 pm). I stated who I was and that I needed to pick up my birth control. The Pharmacy Tech named Mary (heavy set with reddish brown curly hair and blue eyes) did not state that there was a problem and just asked me for my insurance card. I stated that I had my medical insurance card, but because I work for a Catholic hospital, the group number was different. She throws the card back through the slot. I tell her that she doesn't need to be so rude and she tells me that I'm rude and do I want to pay $133.00 for the script? I said that I have never had this problem before, and before I could get out that I was going to pull around and call for the correct information she stated that I'm so rude and all she's trying to do is help me. I was so upset that I just stated that I will pick up my script another time. I came home to get my script info and called the pharmacy to file a complaint and spoke with the pharmacist who had apparently fixed the issue promptly after my departure. I'm very upset about this encounter because all she had to do was ask for help, but instead blamed me. This is birth control- not some narcotic where judgment is mostly given by these individuals, so why was she so rude? I'm calling my doctor tomorrow and switching the script to CVS.

don't know why it matters whom you work for. they should of had the insurance on file if you did the script with them before...did insurance change or lapsed? was it a moral objection with your job?

Walgreens - Cashier Review

Tanya, the cashier at walgreens in norwalk was unfriendly and rude. She said that she could not break my $20.

to provide change.

(when I've been coming here for years and other employees have provided this service with no problems) I tried to buy some gum but she wouldn't allow me to receive the sale price because I could not remember my old phone # that went with my rewards card. Never shopping here again.

Boo who. Love how some people think they should be given the royal treatment cause they've been 'shopping here for years'. Doesn't make you better than anyone else.

Guest

Why are you shopping along? Where was your mom or dad?

You could have asked them for your old phone number. Also telling you no is not rude. I am sure your mom, dad and fifth grade teacher told you no many times. There are reasons she could not break your $20 so you can spend a quarter on the candy.

Maybe she did not have the correct change or enough change, she has other customers to give change to and you are not the center of the universe. Telling you no is not rude.

Walgreens - Work Conditions Review

I worked as the Senior beauty advisor for almost 9 years and had to quit immediately do to being a victim of domestic violence and then having anxiety attacks more than 4 times a day,I then turned into an alcoholic but got professional help after quitting and hitting rock bottom,I better my life and after 5 years,I decided to try to go back,I went in an had a wonderful conversation w the currant store manager and he seemed to be excited to have me back,I wanted to go back not only for the income or benefits but because of the love I had for the daily routines and gettingto know customers and bonding with coworkers,iI shared that I was willing to be flexible with any hours or days of work and showed my sincere acknowledge toward my mistake of adruptly leaving and asked for another chance and assured them they would not be disappointed, I gave my all while working there and would rate myself 85%for outstanding customer service and after 3 monthsof them telling me ttheirs no hours to try another store and the manager said he would back me with support to him then saying a part time student wanted to come back and he liked and knew her and she had seniority when I was the one who worked for so many years,to getting declined by two store managers one they said they didn't have the hours and I didn't do well in the interview I hadn't worked in so long and wasn't even told they were interviewing me they said come in to talk and the other said because of my availability and because of history,I told them I was willing to work any hours and days???? and my history/is in the history and as far as I'm concerned they really don't know what customer service is when hit in the face with it!!! Keep on goingthe way you are, walgreens you have no iempathy for human rights!!!!

Your ego sounds larger than your retail skills. IF you were as great as you say, you wouldn't have any trouble being taken back.

You rated YOURSELF as having 85% for outstanding customer service, but there is a really good chance that you didn't have that high of customer service rating. Everybody rates themselves higher than their supervisors do. The part time student does have more recent seniority than you do. The seniority that you had before you up and left with apparently no notice doesn't count.

IF you have to work for the reasons you stated, apply at other stores and don't brag about your qualifications.

Just state that you had so many years of retail experience before you had to quit for health reasons. Walgreens isn't the only retail business in the world.

Review

I currently work in Walgreens, in Clifton, Nj. I am also 18 yrs old & 30 weeks pregnant. I dont get treated fairly; the store manager doesnt even let me drink water on the job even though i was told so by my doctor.. Every time i go to the bathroom, its a problem. I asked to fill out an early leave form he said that i have to wait. I was currently on bed rest for a week or so, when i got back he wrote a complain about me calling out when i didnt. I had proof from my doctor, stating that due to high risk i should stay in bed rest. My store manager reply was "You're just another pregnant person, and you get no special treatments." This is not the way to treat people

Review about Anti-American Company from Garfield Township, Michigan

Just found out that Walgreens is going to become a 'Swiss' corporation in order to avoid taxes. Over the years they've become my go-to place -- like their generics & reward program BUT if they go ahead with this plan, I promise they'll never see me again AND I'll do everything I can to spread the word about this very anti-american company.

Walgreens - Prescription Filling Review

I am tired of waiting 4 - 5 hours for a prescription. Have an abscessed tooth. Dentist calls in prescription at 8:00am. I call Walgreens at 10:00am. They have not taken messages off of phone yet! Explained how my face is swollen and I would really appreciate it if they could try to rush my prescription. 2 hours later I call again. It will be another 30 minutes! I have never seen a company as slow as this. Am changing today! Ridiculous! This has happened every single time I have ever needed medicine.

Rippped Off!!!!!!

I had to go through Lowcountry Community Action Agency,Inc here in Walterboro SC. I take alot of medication and I cant pay for it thank goodness for this agency.

They use the Walgreens in Walterboro SC, I get a voucher for my medstake the voucher to Walgreens and they fill the prescriptions. I went in today with 4 prescriptions but could only get 1 of them today I can get the other 3 on the 18th nothing difficult about that so I thought, They had to make a big deal out of it saying well the one you want today is only $15.00 I said I know that but I have this voucher for a reason I dont have any money! I just want my Blood Pressure meds today I will be back on the 18th to pick up the rest. With that settled I sat down and waited for my Blood Pressure meds, when it was ready I went to counter and over heard the pharmacist say it would be $55.99, when I asked why the cost went up that much in 30 min.

the manager couldnt answer that question.

I also asked him why the first lady I talked to when I walked in the store also told me the cost of the meds was only $ 15.00 he again said he couldnt answer that question, I asked him why the cost was only 15.00 at CVS without insurance again he couldnt answer that question, I ake3d him was there any question he could answer, I made him mad and he asked me if I wanted my meds, I took my meds and told him I was going home make some phone calls I was going to make some heads roll this is wrong. The agency that is helping people like me really needs to tell Walgreens where they can shove their so called help now I cant get all the meds I am prescribed because Walgreens markup is crazy!!!!!!

You're going to make heads roll because a WALGREEN pharmacist couldn't/wouldn't answer a *** question about CVS pricing policy, and couldn't tell you why some random employee MAY have given you incorrect info? Good luck with that! and btw total *** move to ask if there was any question he could answer, did it make you feel like less of a loser to talk down to him?

Guest

So the first person you talked to when you walked into the store was the cashier? (these are your exact words) WERE you aware that the PHARMACY is located in the back?

Maybe you should drop off your pill bottle or script at the photo counter and get your prescription filled from the photo machine? ARE YOU AN ABOLUTE ***?

After reading your complaint I would say YES!!!

Guest

Hmm ... Let me get this correct ....

your mad at people who actually work for a living, pay income tax which in turns pays for your medicine. By the way a lot is two words.

Common sense I think no compassion. Should be your user name!

You have no clue what that person is going through! And NO one has the right to treat her that way in no manner what so ever! If you are just a mean grumpy person who preys on blogging on comments that are rude.

Then you need to evaluate who you are. And hopefully change it!

Incompetent Employees

Walgreens Management: Please do not hire people who have no customer service skills or incompetent ones. I asked an associate to help me locate an item and after waiting 30 minutes, come to find out that no one was helping me. I was there the day before and they told me they didn't have the item, but was advised to go back the next day because they would have it. I tried again the next day, they looked like deer in headlights. Their response was they did not know Walgreens carried that particular item. Shocking! They told me to wait and that someone was getting me help, but they weren't doing anything. When I finally approached someone, their excuse was the person in charge of putting up that item did not stock them and she left had for the day. Keep in mind that the item was from the weekly add, and Walgreens update weekly ads every Sunday. This is Tuesday, yet they never had the item put up on the shelves, when they apparently had them stored somewhere. They didn't even have the decency to let me know that they couldn't locate it for me; instead, made me wait there for nothing. Not only did I leave the store disappointed, I waited 10 minutes at the check out line, when there were only 2 people in front of me, with very few items on hand. When it was finally my turn, the cashier was very rude and talked down to me when I asked questions. I did nothing but tried to be patient, but she was rude and rushed me out of the store. The staffs were very unprofessional and lazy. When I walked up to ask for help, they were too busy socializing with one another. I live only a mile away from this Walgreens, but I will not be returning again. I had a terrible experience. I want to make sure that the Corporate are aware of this problem.

30 minutes to realize no one was helping you...?

Wags carries how many tens of thousands of items, why would it shock you that some minimum wage employee might not be familiar with every last one of them?

"the person in charge of putting up that item did not stock them and she left had for the day"-that makes no sense, we typically stock once or twice a week when mdse arrives and don't tell people that we can't look for mdse just because the person in charge of that area is gone for the day.

It sounds as though the item you wanted hadn't yet arrived at the store to be stocked, it happens. You sound confused, did you actually listen to what they were trying to tell you or did you stop listening the minute they tried to tell you it wasn't in stock. Did you ask for a manager to try to clarify what the problem was?

Guest

Your spelling and grammar shows that you to are incompetent, please go back to school and learn how to spell. With an attitude like yours they don't want you in the store long. First you complain that you had to wait ten minutes, then you complain that they want you rushed out of the store, there is just no pleasing an unpleasant child such as yourself.

Not Enough Pharmacy Staff

Any Walgreens I have ever been to is always short staffed, but the way the customers act is what kills me. For ONE, YOU are not the ONLY person that exists.

TWO there is a process that each prescription has to go through and you must realize with the short staffing, there might be one pharmacist and one tech filling 200-300 prescriptions, then the phone is ringing off the hook, the front end won't help, pharmacy hours get cut and then without knowing one piece of the process, you yell at the helpless staff members who have no control over certain things, all because you think you are so important. Well guess what, you aren't.

And yes you might be in pain, but the pain medication that is prescribed really only changed the way the body responds, the pain never really will go away, so you can wait a few extra minutes, don't take the chance of having the pharmacy make a mistake. Next time you need an rx filled, ask if you can come behind the pharmacy counter to see exactly what the pharmacy staff have to deal with to fill one rx!

Not my job to care about short staff. With whatever staff you have you should do the best job for the customer!

AND don't make the customer feel obligated because you are overworked and short staffed.

my customers don't know about my problems nor should they nor do they care. they want to be taken care as speedily as can be without rude comments or attitude.

Not a single line in this stated anything about anything being the customer's fault, but it is people like you who pacify people in order to look better. All you're doing is condoning rude behavior and abuse of your staff.

You have no idea what you're talking about obviously. No one ever said to be rude to customers or give attitude, but people need to be less entitled and more empathetic. Put yourself in the reversed role.

Have you ever worked as a Tech at Walgreens? Work a 70 hour week with no lunches or breaks or even a visit to the restroom and then have a customer ask you why they can't have their oxycodone 30mg #120 script ready in 5 minutes.

Guest

sounds like you may need to look for a new job!! heard more cuts are coming!!

really blame the customers that pay your salary HOW'S THAT WORKING FOR YOU SO FAR!! CUTS CUTS CUTS!!

Walgreens Cured Me!!!

Walgreens cured my idiotic desire to do business with them. Never again will I entertain the thought of filling a prescription there. They tried to dump an expired bottle of eardrops on me that wasn't the name brand the doctor wrote on the prescription. Then tried to tell me that it wasn't supposed to be filled as written until I produced my copy of the prescription showing it was to be filled as written. Then they ordered what they were suppose to fill it with in the beginning. But guess what, that turned out to be the same bottle they tried to dump on me the first time!! They didn't get rid of it off the shelf like they should have. I'm sure they will give it to the next unsuspecting consumer. I went back to pick up the newly ordered bottle but couldn't get it because they hadn't unpacked their order yet, they guaranteed all orders are available by 4:00 PM... the problem with that was it was 3:55 PM when they told me this and couldn't be bothered to go ahead and give it to me 5 minutes early. I left and went to another pharmacy who filled the prescription correctly and immediately after calling the doctor's office to verify my prescription copy. So, that's right, they cured me of doing business with them ever again! So incompetent yet so ***!!

Review from The Hammocks, Florida

I dropped off 2 prescriptions at Walgreens in Paradise Lakes West Kendall. I went to pick it up and only 1 ready, they couldn't find the prescription for the other. The tech looked everywhere and after 10 minutes told me they couldn't find it.

I asked how could they lose a prescription I have to know go back to doctor for a new one..All I got was an apology when I asked for pharmacy manager the pharmacist when was working nearby all of a sudden found it.. Note: This pharmacist Tina probably in her 20's has the worst customer service ever. I wonder how many prescriptions of controlled substances have been lost by Tina..

. Of course I'm moving my business elsewhere, I no longer have any trust in Walgreens at 16690 SW 88st Miami 33196...

Beware

Walgreen's on Airport Rd Santa Fe NM would not sell a me (a 68 year old man) a sixpack of beer without an ID from both me and my wife.

I was at the counter in the liquor section about to try to buy a sixpack of beer when the clerk asked me for my ID. I told her that asking me for an ID was ridiculous in view of the fact I am obviously over 21 (I am 68). At that point my wife (who is 62) came up after looking for a ball for our grandson in the other part of the store. The clerk then demanded that my wife also present an ID. This was just too much for me- I just left the beer on the counter and walked out. After this incident I will never shop at Walgreen's again, for liquor or anything else. I have bought liquor at many other establishments in NM (starting in 1988 when I was 43) and have never been asked for an ID. I do not think an ID is required by NM state law- this is just a ridiculous Walgreen's policy.

I just had the same thing happen to me, only it was my 21 year old son who stood at the entrance to the liquor department and said, "Mom, I forgot my ID and can't come in there, but could you buy me these chips?" The clerk immediately said that I could not buy the alcohol because my son is with me and has no ID. Well, what if my son was outside waiting for me or in the car?

What then? I would be able to buy the alcohol. Instead, I had another clerk and a manager stare me down as I was leaving last night at Walgreens where this happened, and the clerk that waited on me talking to me loudly to be heard by all. Absolutely humiliating.

However, even more humiliating was a time at Smith's where I was unable to purchase liquor because the clerk said I was flustered and therefore inebriated, when I was having a time trying to so the self check out. I hadn't had a drink for four days. She wouldn't smell my breath or anything.

These clerks flaunt their power entirely too much. I have boycotted Smith's and now will do so at Walgreen's.

Guest

get use to it because when you were younger you said "boys will be boys" and those same boys kill be hind the wheel. (girls too)

Guest

isnt it crazy that they do NOT TRUST THE EMPLOYEES. This ia a prime example of BAD leadership.

This has been put in place so that the kids working as a cashier doesnt sell to his/her friends.

MattD78

This is not just a Walgreens policy. Many stores are adopting a policy now to ask for ID from anyone buying alcohol regardless of how old they look.

And yes, they will card everyone in your party and if one person doesn't have their ID they will not sell the alcohol. I had the same experience at a liquor store. All they sell is alcohol, and they would not let me buy alcohol as long as my wife was with me because she did not have her ID on her.

So if a store that sells only liquor has this policy, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Walgreens has the same policy. This is becoming common at Walgreens, Walmart, Target (just look at this site and you will find similar reviews/complaints on these stores) so either get used to everyone being carded or stop buying alcohol.
