Open at 8a, pharmacy not til10a on Sunday.

Walgreens is new in my neighborhood, I thought I'd give them a try. Well, talk about molasses! It's not necessarily only the clerks, it's the process. It takes so long to check out, if there are several customers in line, forget it. Not that everything in life has to be rushed but when you're used to shopping at different pharmacy, you notice the severely slow pace. Other clerks standing around need to open a register to get customers serviced quicker. Another complaint I have is I needed an over the counter allergy med which you have to take a card to the pharmacy counter to get, the pharmacy didn't open until 10a, I was there at 8:30a with a god awful sinus headache, there was nothing anyone in the store could do for me. Told me to come back. Well I didn't, I went to my old faithful, CVS.

Only a pharmacist can get behind-the-counter medications. That's tied to legal reasons.

Having the Walgreens pharmacy open at 10am is a pretty common trend for non-24 hour stores around the country.

Not that it probably matters to you. You did the right thing by doing what was best for you.

Accused of taking a $2 item off of shelf & adding to my return.

I was returning about $19 of items to my local Walgreen's and was accessed of taking a $2 item off of the shelf by an associate. I had been making numerous purchases over the past couple of months & I had the wrong receipt with me, but their is no way I would ever do something like that. I told them I would walk home & get the correct receipt. However, the clerk was very loud and called th manager. He came out & threatened to call the police and play them the video, which I welcomed. This went on in the busy store for about 15 minutes. It was lengthy because they also refused to give me my merchandise back. I went back to the store later & the manager refused to return my merchandise. I went home, gathered all my purchases, unopened, and attempted to return them, which they refused. This happened on 2/26/13 & my numerous emails and phone calls to Customer Service have been ignored.

If you were to be shopping around with your return in hand, then they have the right to be suspicious. However, this isn't the case. From what I read, you merely had mismatching items and receipts, so it seems the employees at the store were over-reacting to the situation.

Even if you did take the item, the best action for Walgreen's to do is to let the person have it and leave. Prevents any further trouble, especially, any potential harmful trouble.

It should be noted that Walgreens does have the ability to refuse any and all returns. This store wasn't friendly, so I would recommend another Walgreens in the area (if possible). The only issue is that Walgreens carries a 30 day return policy. I do hope things get better for you.

Guest

If the camera didn't pick it up and there is no witness, you have been falsely accused and unjustly treated! Please give me location of this Walgreens as I will never step foot in it!

I use Walgreens exclusively, yet there are stores whose employees and managers that are customer unfriendly! Shame on them!

Guest

This happened in February and you are just now getting around to complaining about it. Why were you roaming around the store, shopping before doing the actual return?

That just isn't the logical thing to do. At the end of the complaint you sound like a spoiled brat.

Read the post, Loser. You must work for Walgreens, which is documented as one of the companies with the worst customer service.

No roaming. Libel, plain & simple.

False Accusation!!!!

I was accused of stealing hairspray... Very embarrassing and humiliating.. Tons of other customers were present... If I can't afford it, I don't need it... Why would I steal hairspray of all things there?? Lol!!!! Either "loss prevention crew" sucks.. Or surveillance camera don't work.. If it did, they should watch me from the beginning I walked in the store and see what happened... Instead of assuming I stole it.. Just because I grabbed it and decided I don't need it, so I put it back exactly where I got it from... Very UPSET at what happened... EMBARRASSED!!! They must have not had any action lately, so they randomly picked someone to accuse..

Employee

This is not a cry but to address a few things. I worked for wg in 2000 and previously in 2012. Very different from then to now. So there is a lot wrong with the company now, it is trying to seriously pay cut its employees my boss I work with was forced to take this cut or quit. I am 30 and when I went back after my time in the service in 2012 they paid me 8$ an hr. Which is insulting, the only reason I did it was because I was a full time student. But talking with my shift manager who had been with the company 11 years tell me all the things going on suprised me. A young kid who is a great employee who comes in on days people call in has been their 2 years never promoted and no ra8se not even a dime. The citizens of this country are allowing way to many misdeeds from these companies and our goverment we need to force our hand boycott for real and march our cities towns. We need our country back not a business, that is really eating us alive. I dont want anarchy I love my country and will die for the people if necessary, I just want our freedom and pride back the old days. You can add me facebook titus1750@***.com . I would like to get a mass amount of people to ban togather and be heard.

Hmm.. So you must have been an MGT being demoted as an SFL.

Also means that you didn't get your BA. Otherwise they would have let you become an EXA :P.

You sound like a trouble maker, maybe that is why you didn't get higher pay. But then on the other hand, $8.00 an hour is roughly the going rate in retail.

People are lucky if they get that, because a lot places pay minimum wage, which is something like $7.30 an hour, unless you live in a state that has their own minimum wage, which most of the time is higher than the national of $7.30 per hour. Myself I think minimum wage should be done away with and replace it with a living wage.

Horrible Mail Service Pharmacy

Our insurance company forced us to use Walgreens Mail Service for our mail service prescriptions, and it takes forever to get them filled, when they actually fill them. I ordered my husband's two medications over a month ago, and they never show up as being ordered when I check status. When they do actually fill them it takes them at least a week to get here. We used to order from PPSRX, and they would get here no later than two days later. Since my husband's prescriptions are again not showing as being ordered, I am going to check to see what they would cost from PPSRX. I would rather pay for them than to deal with this every 90 days.

New inside policy

I am a sickle cell diseased patient that have been taking the same meds for years with no change in dosage or Dr. I went to the pharmacy this morning on my way to work and I decided to stop and fill my script for Percocet, the pharmacist proceeded to tell me that he was unable to fill my script due to I am out of my living area. Because I live in a different area he can not fill my script I will have to go back where I came from if I want my meds. I then called the corporate office and inquire if this policy is true and yes it is true as of 4/1/13 Walgreens will not fill a narcotic script if you are not living in the same area. So which means if your neighborhood pharmacy does not have your meds you are screwed you can not go to another area to get it!!!! Even though I explained to the pharmacist Hoai what my situation is and he saw my profile he refused to help me. Something has to be done in a more civil and humane way because its not fair that people with real medical issues are not able to get their medication filled. So if ur on vacation and run out of meds sucks for you!!!!

You have to be pretty good ways out if your living area, or the area of your doctors office for this policy to apply. Unfortunately it is common for drug seekers to travel a good ways to get to a doctor that will give them a prescription for the meds they want. Unfortunate for the patients that travel to see a specialists but it's the drug seekers that raised a red flag on that situation.

Good Start program

I took my husbands prescriptions to Walgreens to be fill because that is where my insurance company said I would get the best price because they had a deal with them. Right after getting them filled we started Getting calls from a " Good Start Program".

Now this has turned into a daily call every day at 7:15 AM, this started on a Sunday, on 2 days when I wasn't here ,there where repeated calls for 15 minutes. I called Walgreens and they said someone must have hacked into there computer system. I just want other people to be aware of this. It is very annoying to the point that I feel I'm being harassed by this company.

I have gotten prescriptions filled other places and have never had this happen. Seems odd only at Walgreens and they say they don't share information. Seems odd to me, and very frustrated with the whole thing.

Just a warning to others... Thank for letting me vent.

I was also called by good start program. They also called themselves the Star Program.

They said they worked in conjunction with the pharmacy I use. They wanted to talk to me about one of the drugs that I take. I spoke to the pharmacy and they knew nothing about it. The next phone call I told them that info.

I do not think I will hear from them again. Busted!

Guest

I'm getting them and I use Parkway. How did they get my informational? I'm pissed!

Guest

When I said I am Ins the do not call list, they hung up

I got a good start call from a agent that could not explain to me about the program or what it was bout, I tried to speak w a supervisor and was given a 1866 number that gets you no where, abd as I'm trying to ask questions bout this program the lady could say was I'd get a positive message each day, and the was a link on a website that was a resource but couldn't explain what resources they had to help me. Or even tell me anything bout this good start program other than I link abd and the call I'd get each day to give me a positive health message to get me in a routine each day for taking meds I'd been on for several years.

The agent only wanted to end the call when I was asking questions that she said she couldn't answer at this time when I asked what this program could offer me besides a website link and phone call. I was told a supervisor would call me in 24hrs. I don't like how they got my number or address from my pharmacy in camden Ohio.

I think this good start program suspicious because obviously they can't tell you about any resources they have or how this could start program could benefit you in any way assigns a website link or a positive message for you to take your medication each day. sorry for the lengthy venting.

I work for an independent retail pharmacy. I got a call from someone that claimed to be from my pharmacy's good start program.

I asked my boss what the good start program was and he had no idea. He was also pretty upset that they were claiming to represent his company. When I got the call again the next day, I told them that I worked for this particular pharmacy for three years and I nor my boss had heard of them, the lady started stuttering trying to come up with something to say. I hung up and they have never called back.

They are not in any way affiliated with our pharmacy as I'm sure they are not affiliated with Walgreen's. Not sure what scam they are trying to pull, but beware and definitely do not five them any information

John N Mzy

The Good start program is a dual Walgreen/Gerber program. You must have given your phone number to Walgreen when filling the script.

Walgreen then enrolled you in the "good start" program and they are trying to sell you a bunch of junk. At this point, I would go elsewhere for prescriptions given Walgreen's attempts to scam customers.

They are NOT the best nor cheapest place to fill prescriptions. Check around.

Concerned Consumer

I paid close to $100 for a prescription at Walgreens, located at 7530 Roswell Road in Atlanta, GA. I picked up my prescription, of what SHOULD have been 120 pills, on my way to work. When I got home I proceeded to fill up my "Pill-Minder," and found that I was short 30 PILLS. I thought they would make it right once I called and told them about it. W-R-O-N-G!! I spoke with a 'Pharmacist' named "Meera," and she was mildly apologetic, but said that they "counted the pills twice and there is nothing they can do." Now, I KNOW that I have been SHORTED 30 PILLS, and that it happened BEFORE the prescription was given to me; But this "Meera" was having none of it. No attempt to make it right. No refund offer. Nothing. I will be moving my current prescriptions OUT of Walgreens, never to do business in their Pharmacy again. Shame it came to that, but I am deeply troubled by this situation and will no longer trust my health to a lackadaisical and uncaring Pharmacy such as the one in the Walgreens on Roswell Road. For those who shop this Pharmacy, BEWARE!!

Terrible Service

I went to Take Care Clinic over the weekend June 2012. I knew I had a bacterial lung infection, but instead of giving me an inhaler and antibiotics, he chalked it up to stress.

Told me to get Vick's vapo rub, and sent me on my way. It got so bad over the weekend, that Monday I saw my professional Dr, and she immediately put me on antibiotics and an inhaler. I got a bill from Take Care Clinic and the nurse practitioner had diagnosed it as stress and mental issues, so the Insurance won't cover it. Well, fast forward to March 30, 2013.

I have been told by 5 people with Take Care Clinic that they would change the diagnosis. Still nothing has happened, and I just got a letter from a collections agency even though I was told by Take Care Clinic to not pay any bills.

I can't stress enough to people to go to a professional Dr, and avoid Take Care Clinic at all costs. When I complain to Walgreen's, they take no responsibility saying it's a separate entity. My argument with that is Walgreen's needs to take some responsibility since this clinic is under their umbrella, and advertises Walgreen's & Take Care Clinic I never write on review/complaint boards, but i don't want anyone going through the *** that I'm still going through almost a year later.

A "bacterial lung infection" is not a diagnosis. Did you have Bronchitis?

Pneumonia? Pleural effusion? What exactly?

And no one can alter another provider's documentation and "change a diagnosis" as doing so would constitute fraud. I find your story very hard to believe!

Guest

More people need to know about how Walgreens clinics work. All they do is check boxes on a computer according to your symptoms and the computer tells them what to do.

I have been misdiagnosed. Also my boyfriend and my father. My boyfriend may have pneumonia. These are not real doctors.

They are a walking webmd.

They just say you have the first thing that pops up. Terrible terrible place to go!

Don't use Walgreens

Went to fill my prescriptions and the pharmacy tech was rude and disrespectful he couldn't be bother with what I had the say said he been working there for years and really couldn't of been older then 24. I had an insurance card and a discount card but he argued with me about the discount card then out of spite he said I will just use you discount card and forget the insurance card. I took my scripts and left I will go somewhere else that will listen to me and treat me like a human being. I don't have time for that. As we all know sometimes insurance will not cover certain meds so if you have a discount card you will save a few bucks. Last time I saved $20 off a med that was not covered. When I went to the front to ask for the customer service number no on the store knew it and gave me the 1800 number off some guys receipt which held him up by the way he eventually just walked out without it. The placed was recently remodeled which now look like Macy cosmetic department I will never be returning as they need some remodeling done with there employees

The way discount cards work you can either use the discount card or your insurance. Not both.

So you got pissed at am employee because you couldn't be bothered to figure out how a discount card works. :roll

What is so funny?

I dropped off a prescription for my daughter on 5-4-13, and they said they didn't have the medicine that it would be here on 5-8-13 to pick it up then. On 5-8-13 I called Walgreens in Galesburg, IL.

on Freemont and Henderson street at 1:30pm to see if it was ready, and it wasn't so when I started to ask why I was put on hold for the pharmacist to talk to me all she said was that it is a long process and that they have other customers, and that she would have to wait for another pharmacist to come in so that she could fill it, and when I said WHAT, you have had this prescription for 4 day's and now your telling me it won't be ready until after 6:00pm. Then I heard her laugh. Her response was I am not going to listen to this, and I said well maybe someone should listen, she replied she wasn't laughing that she was about to cry..I know a laugh when I hear one.

My complaint is that it should never take that long to fill a prescription even though you don't have it right then and there..there is such a thing called courtesy which is something I am not seeing and feeling from this establishment. You could at least fill the prescriptions that are there waiting for day's to be filled immediatley when the medicine come's in..not have excuses to why they aren't, and have someone with compassion talk with waiting customers..

the medication may have been on back-order because all retail pharmacies will automatically order any out of stock scripts that are waiting to be filled electronically. they usually come in the next day (except on weekends) so that may be why it took so long.

If it was a class II drug (like most ADHD and pain meds) it takes 3-5 business days for the med to come in..... but I'd be mad too if I got laughed at for asking why?

Do you have any idea how many people had prescriptions there ahead of you? If not, don't complain.

Hey Sioux Falls-

I guess this answers my questions about whether you have been assigned Walgreens in addition to Walmart. So how long will you be covering these two stores complaints? Will we be seeing LadyScot again, or have you been assigned permanently to these stores?

If this doesn't make sense to you, dear reader, it's time for a quick explanation. This poster consistently responds negatively to most (if not all)Walmart and Walgreen's complaints - always with negative attitudes and advice for the poster to just shut the *** up. Unfortunately, the whole reason for this website is to provide a forum for people to register their complaints - so telling them to just "Get over it and shut up" is not really helpful.

Of course, you're not here to be helpful, right? So why don't you tell us what you ARE here for? Are you here for Walmart? Walgreens? Or for pissedconsumer.com, so they can churn their way to more advertising dollars? I for one would love to know...

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Kenyatte Sro

It seems obvious this "lady Scott" you referred to has an agenda. Which seems to be telling anyone using this forum to say anything negative against Walgreens or Walmart to not complain, shut up etc..

I agree with the last poster, this is a forum for complaints. Who are you to tell people how they should feel or obviously stand up for these places? And why would you care do much if you were just another "consumer". At least have the back bone to identify yourself your not kidding anybody.

Maybe you should stay off this forum and let consumers express their experiences.

I for one have had several instances with Walgreens treating me unprofessionally. And I'll leave at that, because I have no doubt what words of wisdom you'll come up with as you too will act like judge and jury.

To LadyScot, I'm sure you did nothing to provoke someone into trying to impersonate you.

Like dismissing and leaving rude comments on people's complaints against Walgreens and Walmart.

Right? :?

No help obtaining medication

We requested my family members Ritalin on 4/11/13 and went today no meds. After complaining was told they cant call us when it is ready or call other pharmacies for us. This provided by a pharmacist at customer service. It seems South Fl Walgreens have made changes in April 2013. A google search shows a court issue with DEA. The change of policy happened after their last court appearance. The court issue is with Walgreens delivering more than ordinary amounts of Oxycodone without asking questions. Due to their legal problems it seems all their patients are going to suffer. They have been getting the same meds for over 10 years. I went to CVS. The pharmacist also told us to have the physician change the medication. I dont think that is their place to make the suggestion it should be you and your doctor. Also no opinions on ritalin please.

Well, I asked my pharmaicist why I always get a recording saying "I'm sorry, the medication you have ordered is not available." Since I get a bunch of them, and they don't specify, this is not helpful. They never tell you when the medication IS ready. So to find out I either have to wait in a long line or wait un hold for a long time. My pharmacist said "That system is failed. It fails the customer and it fails us." Nice to know.

I need about ten medications every day, sometimes more. Most of the time, none of them are mind altering. I never know when they will come in. My life is a treadmil of calling Walgreens, calling my doctor, calling medi-cal and going to walgreens.

So I wanted to cut this down and order a ninety day supply, which they said I could. I also wanted to go on a long vacation, but I have to have my pills on time.

So I told my doctor that Walgreens had said Medi-cal approves a 90 days supply, and he wrote my presecritions that way. I want in and the clerk said "the doctor didn't say that it should be changed to ninety days." At this pointed, I got pretty upset. I had talked to my doc about it for half an hour. So another clerk stepped in and said that all I could do was wait for medical. I kept asking if I should call my doctor and she kept saying no, it won't help. This made no sense, so I did call my doctor. They told me that a request for a ninety day supply had been made and to call the pharmacist. The pharmaicist kept insisting that nobody had ever told me that a ninety day request had been made. I din't want to make that the issue of the fight, but it is pretty irritating to be tld that nobody told me something that I clearly remember them telling me. I am not phsychotic and I do not hear voices.

I finnaly called medical when I realized that I was running out of a pill in four days. They told me that the prescription is about to expire and Walgreens should have called them. So I went back in (they didn't pick up the phone) and the pharmacist was very hostile to me, but agreed to put in the tar that they should have put in in the first place.

Must be nice, I work 70 hours a week and still can't afford a vacation, but I also have to pay for my ins. And my kids insurance. Living the dream.

If the medication is on backorder all you can do is wait for it to come in if you want to stay on the same drug. Some backorders can last over a month while others are resolved within a few days.

That is ridiculous if someone actually told you that they wouldn't call you once it came in. I'm not surprised the staff wasn't willing to call every pharmacy in town looking for it for you tho.

That is something that you could and should do if you really have to have it soon. I'd recommend contacting your doctor and discussing the situation because if a change in med is needed, there are a lot of options.

Guest

Ritalin is a controlled substance, and the last I knew that type of prescription can't be refilled until the day it is gone. I have a grandson that was on a similar type of medication and that is the way it worked.

No matter the type of weather we were having, snow, blizzard, sleet, ice, whatever, his mother had to go out in it on the day that he took the last one. The only thing I really know about Ritalin, is when they tried it on my grandson, it made his condition worse, thus the reason for him taking a different type.

His doctor tried several different types before finding one that worked on him. I also know that basically Ritalin is speed or an upper, but for kids that are ADHD, it works in the opposite way.

Trying to fill prescription

on 1-10-13 i turned in a narcotic medication prescription to be filled. on 1-11-13 i called and asked if it was filled.

pharmacist said no not yet. please call back in 2 hours. i called in 2 hours. i was told no not yet.

it would be filled in 2 hours. i drove to pharmacy to collect medication. i was told it is not ready come back in to hours. i told them i have to go to GA.

i have to be there by 16:00 hrs. can i pick it up on sunday (1-13-13). they said no problem. i returned on 1-13-13 to collect medication.

they said it is not ready, come back in 2 hours. i asked to speak to pharmacist manager. she was not at work. store manager told me there was nothing she could do.

she is the store manager not the pharmacy manager. i asked the pharmacy tech if the prescription will be ready in 2 hours. he said yes. i asked my GF to pick up medication since i had to catch a flight back to Dallas in 45 min.

My GF has been picking up "ALL" of my prescriptions for the past 3 years. i got on plane, GF went back to pharmacy. Pharmacy told her they do not have it ready. it will be another 2 hours.

(she pulled up to drive thru). GF told pharmacy tech this is unacceptable. she wants to speak to whomever is in charge. pharmacy tech walked away, got on speaker (so that everyone could hear) and told her (GF) that she had to move her vehicle because others are trying to get their medication.

GF told him "NO" she's not moving, she was here first. Tech stated over microphone (so that everyone could hear), "IF YOU DO NOT MOVE I WILL CALL THE POLICE AND HAVE YOU REMOVED". GF said "really, you couldn't tell me this privately". another tech took over and asked if he could help.

GF told him the story, he asked if she could come inside. while she is parking he will have it filled. she parked walked inside, when she approached counter. the helpful tech told her, she cannot pickup medication for me.

someone has made a note on my profile stating none is to pick up my medication but me. she called me and told me. i told her I'm calling this pharmacy now. phone continued to ring on my end.

(i was using separate cell phone, i have two) i could hear phone ringing in background of other phone. helpful tech told her to have my call him. he can explain why she can't get meds. i told her to tell him to stop talking and answer phone, because I'm calling now.

he finally answered and told me excuse. i told him I've never authorized any changes to my profile. i asked who made the changes. he said he couldn't tell me.

i told him i want my profile corrected. he said i would have to come in with my ID. this was the only way i could make changes. after app.

30 minutes of arguing, he agreed to allow GF to pickup meds only if she gave him copy of Drivers License, cell phone number, home phone number, written statement of relation to me.

on 2-6-13 we went to same pharmacy to drop off prescription. pharmacist told us then they did not have the meds on hand. please "CALL" back on friday, we may have them then.

for we get a shipment in on thursdays. we called. i was told do to security and company policy we cannot give that info over the phone. i asked why was i told to "CALL".

pharmacist stated i misunderstood her directives. i told her "no i did not" how can someone misunderstand a simple directive such as "CALL" if you told me to come back, i would not have called. i asked again if they have the medications. she again stated the security and Company BS.

i told her if she would look at my profile, she could see that i have been shopping at this same location for the last 6 years, getting the same medication. its not like I'm some Joe Public asking for private info. again i got the company and security BS. i asked if i went to a Walgreens close to me.

could they tell me what the pharmacy in lehighe acres has for supplies for my meds. she told me yes. i knew this was BS. but hey i figured, just maybe they can.

i drove to the pharmacy closest to me (Dallas, TX) (now you know why my GF has been p/u my meds, i travel for my work). i asked them if they could tell me if the pharmacy in lehighe acres fl had on hand the meds i have a prescription for. they (Dallas,TX) no, we cannot tell. we don't have the capability of telling what they have or not.

they cannot tell what we have either. i asked this pharmacist to please call and ask. i figured one pharmacist could get the answer from another pharmacist. *** IDEA, they wouldn't tell her either.

i called the pharmacy ion Lehighe acres fl, while standing in front of the pharmacist in Dallas, TX. i asked the pharmacist in lehigh, why did you tell me that i could drive over to a pharmacy near me. ask them what you (lehigh) have for supplies on the meds i need. lehigh pharmacist told me that i misunderstood her, she did not say that.

i cussed her out for being ***, then i called customer service at corporate. i was able to talk to the complaint dept. i asked that i speak to the person who was in charge of all complaints. i do not want to have to tell the story twice.

the lady said she needed to know the story before she could transfer to the appropriate area. i asked her to connect to the person in charge of ALL complaints. again, i got the "i need to know speech". so i told he the story, all about the being told to call back, GF picking up meds, the profile BS, my long standings with Walgreens, the years of customer loyalty.

the lady on the phone with customer service stated (hold on, wait till you hear this) she told me that "I could not get a narcotic prescription filled in Tx from a Fl doctor." i asked her when the *** did i tell you that i was trying to do something like that. you are doing the same thing, they did. your NOT LISTENING. this company in my opinion,( my opinion is my sole opinion, not to be construed as to be the opinion of Walgreens or its affiliates, partners, or sister companies) has seriously gone to SH#*.

they will *****NEVER***** get another penny of my money. i have spent app. $21,600 on my medication over the past 6 years. I REFUSE TO DEAL WITH A COMPANY THAT IS TO *** TO PROTECT ITS CUSTOMERS.

THEY HIRE MINDLESS DRONES TO ANSWER THE PHONES. NOONE WANTS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OF THEIR OWN ACTIONS.

Thank you so much for this website and your candid stories in dealing with the pharmacy. I have been a very loyal customer in at my local Walgreen's for too many years to count.

I even get my flu shots and other OTC vitamins, cold meds, and other products at my local Walgreen's. I am and have been on several prescription meds for years that must have totaled a small fortune for my local Walgreen's pharmacy. Since about a year or so ago, whenever I call the pharmacy to check prescriptions or have any questions they always manage to make my blood pressure rise, make me a nervous wreck, and /or cause me to start bawling after I hang up the phone. :cry

The pharmacy manager is wonderful but is not there all of the time.

I have personally called headquarters a few years ago to let them know how professional, knowledgeable, and courteous the manager is toward the customers and is an asset to their company.

I have complained recently about some issues with the rest of the staff to the store manager and to headquarters. If I had not found this site, I would have thought I had some type of a "black mark" on my name in the pharmacy computer! I began to think it was only me with whom they had some type of issue.

This site confirms to me that my idea of switching to another pharmacy might be the right idea after all!

Gosh, I can't thank everyone here enough.

After all, the reason why we are all visiting the pharmacy to begin with is because of our heath.

God bless each of you I truly hope each of us finds a pharmacy who truly cares for its customers.

If your profile was changed to saying only you should be picking up your meds, no one can change that until you bring in an ID. It sucks because if this was done in error, then it's frustrating for you. But if someone had a lock on her profile and someone claiming to be her "called in" and said give it to Joe-Shmoe....there'd be a legal situation.

I would like to add that the store manager has absolutely NO control over the pharmacy itself. ONLY the pharmacist can dispense medications. ONLY the pharmacist.

No wonder you're on narcotics.

Obviously your medication is a controlled substance.

A) No matter what kind of note is in your file, you are the only one who can pick it up legally. And you must have a valid form of identification.

B) Prescriptions for a controlled substance can not be transferred across state lines no matter what the situation. When you were told to go to the nearest pharmacy to have the script filled, either you left out the fact that you were out of state at the time or due to your frustration she didn't catch that you were already across state lines. Other wise she would not have told you to go elsewhere.

C) Nearly all Walgreens Pharmacies are short staffed these days. Your script was probably constantly pushed back in the first place because people who come in store take precedent to scripts called in. This is mandated by corporate. Things get nuts and floor managers more often than not have to step in to help. Most of us are certified Pharmacy Techs but there are many who aren't yet but know how to help out. We fill as fast as possible, but not all of us can be as fast as Flash Gordon.

D) Only the Pharmacist can access a controlled substance that is to be filled. It must be counted 3 times over, initialed and the bottle the drug was filled from must be counted 3 times also. This is mandated by the DEA, not Walgreens.

If you still have a problem you can blame corporate for this. We are doing all we can with the minimum resources we have.

It is NOT the law that only YOU can pick up your own controlled substance. There are people that are bed-ridden on pain meds.

How are they suppose to go to the pharmacy and pick up their own meds? As far as you being the only one who can pick up your meds. You asked someone to do that. The pharmacy doesn't give a flying flip who gets your meds.

As long as they show a valid ID (federal law). Do you really think someone decided only you can pick up your meds and nobody else that just gives them another step to go through to sell it. Also the tech didn't answer the phone because your "GF" was in there complaining about the situation. Do you expect him to tell her she has to shut-up while he answers the phone.

That would just give her something else to *** about. Also they USE to be able to see what other stores had in stock on the computer, but not now because of security reasons. Why the heck do you care what the store in FL has in stock when you clearly are in another state? Getting ready for your next score?

Can't even wait until you get back home to FL to find out? As far as it taking so long to fill, They have 10 steps to go thru to fill a controlled now. It's not just count pills. They now have to call the dr.

and confirm they are writing it for the right reasons. Don't blame the pharmacies. If you have a problem with that write your Senator.

Otherwise give them 5 days notice, so they will have plenty of time to go thru the steps and fill it. Then have a smooth transaction.

You are clearly a *** and despite your "customer loyalty", certain pharmacists don't care to enable people like you. And the note was in your profile because sketchy people like you always have notes like that in your profiles.

Ohhh and then you called corporate to complain about the refusal to fill a controlled substance? That's hilarious. You realize the person speaking with you was rolling her eyes the entire time she spoke with you, right?

At walgreens, a refusal to fill a controlled substance complaint is basically deleted. End of story. Go somewhere else and try to fill it, or better yet, correct the problem by taking my advice: Quit abusing prescription drugs (you and your "GF")

Disappointed and won't be going back

I don't think ex-military should deal in customer service. They come off as too intense and rude. I will not be back to the Walgreens in Kuna due to this individual. If it is Walgreen’s policy to have their employees intimidate customers, harass them and turn them away you have a winner in this person. I prefer warm friendly and service. Kuna is a great community with no room for a person of this nature. I would warn everyone I know about him. That sort of behavior is not appropriate and I don't know why this individual is the customer service industry.

You're ex-military and you were intimidated by Walgreen's personnel? :grin :roll :cry

Guest

Wow. That excludes a lot of good people. You sure like to sterotype people.

Basically you are saying former military people shouldn't have jobs. Did it ever occur to you that maybe it is your actions.

Every former military person I have known addresses people as "sir" or "maam." I know a guy that was in Marines for 20 years and joined the same police department that my now "ex" was on, and this man even addressed my teenage daughters as "maam." They thought that was hilarious. You either have a real thin skin or else you did something to warrent the treatment that you allege you received.

Actually, I call *** on this. As a pharmacy tech, I can tell you right now that NO pharmacist will put their name on a script that is NOT theirs.

Not only is that a felony, it is fraud. Second, pills are counted by 5's.

There is absolutely NO WAY someone will miscount 60 for 30. NO WAY IN ***.

It is not miscounted. It is happening because pharmacists and pharm techs are stealing them.I have worked in pharmacies for a long time and have seen it first hand.Always when you get a script count it yourself before you leave the counter especially with pain and anti axitiy meds.Even if they yell and are rude to you stand your ground and count those pills because once you leave that counter you are out of luck and its your word against theirs.

Guest

really? who is going to get hurt?

you were shorted, they had to do a count on it and compare it to what the system said they should have. you have to remember they are human too, mistakes do happen although they try their best not to let it happen. Do you know how many times a day they get that call saying they were shorted just to get more? Lots of times.

You can't expect them to leave the 5 year old with the flu waiting another 30 minutes so they can break away and count the pills to compare to what the system says. you got 30 of them so start with those and tell them to just call you back after they are able to figure it out. So when they get an extra minute they can do it and call you back even if its as late as 8 pm. you sound pretty selfish to me.

Wanting them to drop everything to get you your other 30 pills. We're ALL God's children, not just the perfect ones who never make mistakes.

Did this happen on the exact day that it was supposed to be refilled? With controlled substances, you have to wait until the day it is due to be refilled.
