Walgreens Takes Over 2 WEEKS to Fill Meds!
Walgreens Higher some PROFESSIONAL employees
I broke my toe, and had to take the day off of work, after sitting in the first waiting room for 1.5 hours, they spent a whole 5 minutes with me, and $60 later told me what I already suspected--I broke my toe. So instead of help me, what do they do, yep--ship me off to another place to "assist me better".
After sitting in their waiting room for 30 minutes, they actually did a much better job than the first place, helped me, and gave me the infamous "boot" to wear that everyone who's ever broken their foot or toe loves so much. Anyways, they call in a prescription for me for some pain relief (my toe was dis-located and broken) at a nearby walkgreens, I left the doctor's at 4:40pm, and it look longer than usual of course because it was rush hour, get to the Walgreen's drive through, and this *** kid mis-spells my name twice, finally finds the order and says "yeah, um, that like--just came in, so, uh, we'll have it ready, in, uh like 10 minutes" --awesome. So I pick up some things in a nearby grocery store, hobbling around getting passed by old people on motorized carts, go back to walgreens where I pull up and wait, and wait, and wait....nothing. So I finally yell "HELLLLLLOOOOOOOO?????" nothing....
wait some more, in this time 4 people who all arrived after me walk up to the little in door counter and are helped and go on their merry way. UNREAL! So I resort to honking my horn, that will get their attention right>? Wrong.
After just plain being tired from the day, I just sat there honking my horn over and over and over, like a row boat out wondering at sea waiting hopelessly for someone to notice. Finally, the little zit-faced teenager turns around and I resort to waiving my hands using the international sign for distress and help, and his eyes light up and comes over and says "be right with you ma'am".
Total time for waiting 15 minutes being ignored--maybe when he graduates from middle school or high school his peripheral vision will improve.
Walgreens SUCKS!
Walgreens sucks, don't go here to fill a prescription. I am a patient person and when someone is going to give me $25 I can typically be even more patient. However, if you aren't going to follow through with the ads then just tell me up front, I won't be mad at that point.
However, if I do what you say then honor your word! Here's what happened today. I went to Walgreens to fill a prescription because I had seen the $25 promotion for filling a prescription there. When I got there I was told that it had to be a transfered prescription and couldn't be a new prescription. However, the woman behind the counter told me that if I went over to Publix and dropped off the prescription, I could transfer it and that would work. Well I needed some groceries so I went to Publix with a friend and her kids, dropped off my prescription, then got on my friends phone and transfered the prescription.
At the time the prescription said it would be ready I went back to Walgreen's to pick up my prescription and my $25 gift card as promised. When I got there they hadn't even called Publix to transfer the prescription and told me it would be another 30 minutes. Mind you I am 8 1/2 months pregnant with a 3 year old but thought we could run some more errands and then come back. I came back 30 minutes later and was told it would be another 10 mintes. So, we waited about another 20 minutes and again came back. Still, I am very patient because I am going to get my prescription and the $25. However when I came back they have now decided that there is some kind of bar code that I am supposed to have in order to get the gift card. They call over another guy, who I am guessing was the manager and he says that I am going to have to come into the store and fill out some paperwork that will take about another 30 minutes. I mean seriously what paperwork takes 30 minutes. But by this time my 3 year old is asleep in the back and I can't wake her up to go in so I said I can't come in my daughter is asleep in the back and it has been over 3 hours. A good manager would have said you know what I have to do this paperwork but if you drive around front I will stand with you and help you complete it. But no, the dumb guy tells me that I have to come in for a minimun of 30 minutes and do some paperwork or I won't get the gift card. Now remember pregnant, 3 year old asleep, and we have been out for over 3 hours, we have waited patiently but by this point my hormones are kicking in and I tell the guy to just give me my stuff back and I am not filling a prescription there.
Honestly, if they had just been honest when I walked in there at 1:30 and said we can't honor this coupon, for whatever reason, I would have been much more patient than I was at 4:30. Be honest and don't tell me to do one thing if you aren't going to honor it!
Walgreens in Gilbert, Az
Shorted prescription Medication & refused to acknowledge
My fiancé fills the same prescription every week. Today, after a 1 hour wait for this prescription, noticed pen scribble on the prescription bottle.
He showed me the scribble that seemed to cross out the quantity. Together , we opened it, to find it was missing 5 of the 18 tablets. Five missing tablets that are considered a controlled substance. Immediately , phoned the pharmacy & turned the car around.
(only pulled out of parking lot) He was told they would count the pharmacy bottle. We both went into pharmacy& were told that they counted all medications & the count was correct. All meds. counted within 5 min.
time? My fiancé asked who can he speak with to file a complaint? He was told to come back tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow when everyone goes home?
If any theft was involved this gives employees more than enough time to conceal it. I have heard rumors while waiting during other visits of consumers being shorted prescription medications. I now know these prob. weren't rumors.
Count your meds before you leave. I've called the company's customer service hotline and was promised this would be investigated & I'll be notified with the results.
Store policy
If you care about your freedom and rights as a consumer, do not patronize the University Blvd Takoma Park branch of Walgreens. That store has a policy of asking customers to check in all kinds of bags at the front.
However, they do not ask ALL customers. I used to go there several times a week on my way home from school so I always carry a backpack full of books and I always makes sure I leave my bag at the front as they requuire. But I was getting pissed because everytime -- just everytime, I saw many customers carrying their shopping bags and backpacks around the store. I could not help feeling I was being targeted because Iwas Asian.
The store manager is White. Every other employee is either Black or Latino. Once or twice I forgot to immediately check in my backpack upon entering the store. As a result, I got yelled by a big, hulking Black woman associate.
At another time, the Latina clerk kept telling me that I had to give her back my backpack ( She gave it back to me ) and she'd keep it until I was ready to check out. This, while I was already at the front of the line. I am not saying Blacks and latino clerks are racists. But this particular Walgreens has a very sinister climate inside.
One can feel the hostility of the workers.
The White manager is so unfriendly. I used to seee his face tightening up when a ethnic customer approached and ask a question.
Store is good but some employees are not

A Walgreen's employee stated earlier that the only thing that is checked is the zip code & all other info. can be bogus.
Who knows if that applies at all the stores. My cool, calm, laid back husband threw his purchases down on the counter, screaming, & walked out the door when they couldn't find our zip code where we have lived for 40 years. Another time, their famous use-next-time coupon was not available because "the coupon machine is broken".
I could go on & on. They have so much small fineprint on their ads & in the store that you need a lawyer with you to see if you qualify to get the merchandise at the price shown, kinda like Sears is now in their ads, & look how well they're doing now.
It basically only requires information that I could gather by googling your name. They're not asking for your ssn :P
To funny so you must not shop anywhere because evey company has some kind of card n the information they adk you is public
Lady, did you really need a reason not to go to walgreens? Sounds like you were looking for one.
Just dont go. I dont complain about these companies, I just dont spend my money in places that I dislike. If you need the item then it shouldnt matter if it is on sale or not.
Once we let go of our hangups, life gets easier. Complaining about the sale price, smh....what were you saving $0.20
The info needed for any companies rewards program is on the public domain...meaning if an identity thief wanted to get your name address and phone number they can do it easier than hacking walgreens' database.
BTW whats the difference with using a store card and making up a fake one? Did it ever cross your mind to just fill out the form with fake information on it.
According to the Walgreens ads that I receive it is only certain items that have special prices for card holders. Those items are marked in the ad. I agree about not giving out the information required for these cards.
