I went to Walgreens today to drop off a prescription for my sick baby and pick up some pictures that I had uploaded. I use the Walgreens on Dutch Fork Rd Irmo SC a lot because it is around the corner from where I work. Also, I usually use the drive-through pharmacy...

I waited in checkout line with about $45.00 worth of items @ 67th & Stoney Island in Chicago. When I was next in line, the cashier TOLD me to move over to next lane. She then came over to the check out lane I was in and proceeded to harass the cashier in this lane,...

The problem is (as a former store manager) is that the DM is only concerned about high end profit stores (i.e stores downtown or in white majority areas). The stores on the southside or westside of Chicago are just cash cows.

They pay the employees the lowest salaries and have more junk food than quality merchandise. These are usually OLDER stores and not well kempt. U will actually see dust and grime on the bottom of many of the shelves and merchandise. As long as the EMPLOYEES aren't stealing or getting caught stealing, the DM doesn't really are too much for these stores.

THIS is why u see the employees acting 'ghetto'.

U will NOT see this behaviour on Michigan Avenue. TRUST ME

to be honest that was kind if dumb since these facts are easily reputable when they call your references and former employers. if you're going to make yourself look better and like an employee with potential, just make yoyr job sound better than it was.

for exampke, you worked in a particular department? write it this way: i was a beauty adviser, meaning i was in charge of ordering, inventory, customer service, money handling (important! cashier is so run of the mill.

money handling sounds better!) never claim to be a manager or shift leader if you weren't because it will be found out. not only do you look like an *** but you set yourself up to take positions you might not be able to handle, all based off of your "experience" on your resume.

Walgreens will fire you for no reason at all. The further you advance in the company the more likely it is you will be fired. A clerk who has worked in the store for an hour can have their store manager fired by telling a lie to loss prevention. Loss prevention will...

Why is it that I can walk into the local Walgreens, plan to buy other items, drop of a script, and wait almost 45 minutes, when they state, 15-20 minutes... The answer is this; if you drive your car up to the drive up pharmacy window, you get quick, immediate...

okay one possible scenerio is that the person droped off thier rx the day before and we were out of stock and had to order it and the order had just been recieved therefore we had to fill it last minute or the person in drive through dropped thier script off hours before you and maybe they hadnt updated thier insurance information the insurance then creats an exception saying coverage expired blocking it from being filled because it goes unresolved untill the patient shows up with the information you need. our techs have gotten good at clearing the exceptions so that they are ready for the cash price and all we have to do is process it through insurance.

and in most cases if we are busy ill ask the patient to either come inside while i process the information and i will put thier RX behind the waiter if it is printed to be filled or fill it by my self while assisting the next person in drive through using the phone at the filling terminal while filling. our job is all about multi tasking. but sometimes that customer refuses to come in or pull behind the person next in line therefore we are forced to do it right then in order to assist the next person. also due to shortage of staff there are some cases in which there is one tech running the front and one tech filling there may be 3 waiters ahead of you the person up front is responsible for processing the RX before it can be filled while helping ppl picking up, drive through, and answering phones!

im typically honest about wait times if i told the first person with 5 scripts 15 mins i will say 15-20 for the next two and inform them there is a waiter ahead or two or three. but id rather say 30 mins and be honest then to say 10 and be 20mins over that.

keep in mind your not the only customer we have faxed rxs constant insurance updates, and issues some of which take up to 30 minutes to resolve and others a few seconds. also drug refills or other RXs put in earlier that day have to be done in time and the printer prints everything in time order those prescriptions are filled in time order and typed in time orders waitors are first but if there are 3 waiters 5 scripts 3 scripts and you bring in 1 script the first two waiters will come first and have to be typed and filled before yours even though yours may be simpler.

Walgreens

I was done wrong by Walgreen they fired me for something that I could not help. They are keeping me from getting unemployment. They said that they fired me for no call no show, when I could not call or show. I had my husband go and talk to them for me but that was not good enough. If you get into some civil problems and you go to jail you can more then likely expect to lose your job for not being able to get in touch with them yourself. they do not care what happened to you.No matter how long you worked for them or how hard you worked.

This is part of being a responsible adult. You being in jail is not a reason to not be able to call your job.

You did not get unemployment because you were fired for something that was in your control. If you take care of your civil matters, you dont go to jail.

I have an injured foot that needs to be xrayed in the next two weeks. My doctor finally prescribed me a prescription for pain and I went to walgreen's to fill it. Only I was told they were out of stock and they could call around to find a pharmacy that carried it....

Ask for an Rx to be written with 'may substitute' on it from your doctor in the future. That way they can use an equivalent medication. Often, it's just one very specific medication that they are unable to fill.

Walgreens COMPLIMENT!

My doctor diagnosed me with walking pneumonia yesterday. I ended up having to leave work early because I was so sick. He called my perscriptions in to the Walgreen's in Humble, TX on the Eastex Freeway and FM 1960 since that is two minutes from my job. Before I headed out of work to pick the perscriptions up, I called to make sure they had been called in because I hate sitting at a pharmacy forever waiting. I called a few times and they still hadn't been called in. When I called the fourth time, the pharmacy tech said "You sound like you aren't feeling to well. Would you mind holding while I check the voicemail?" Wow! What customer service! It turns out that it was on the voice mail and they filled it right away. The people at that pharmacy are as nice in person as they are on the phone.

So I take it all those women who are Pharm D.'s know nothing?

I wonder what professional title you have, kymmberlie, that you can belittle women pharmacists?

You obviously work at that Walgreens. This site is pissedconsumer.

Not suck up to my employer to get a raise. Learn how to read. I bet you don't even have the pneumonia. You just made a compliment and the person that "helped" you was you yourself.

You are just writing a good review for yourself to get a raise. Stop it loser.

This is not the way the world works you ***. The truth is Wal-greens sucks because they hire women as pharmacists when women don't know a thing about medication.

Walgreens and CVS will ALWAYS be understaffed. They are there to MAKE MONEY.

You have prescription insurance and you will come back next time regardless of the wait time.

You wait an hour but save $100 b/c of your insurance co-pay. It's a trade off and Walgreens, CVS take advantage of that.
