Paid for Gift Card that was not activated

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a $50 Taco Bell gift card for my son-in-law's birthday. He tried to use it a few days later and it was declined.

They told him that it was never activated. I took it back to Walgreens and I was told we just needed to scratch off the PIN number and call the number on the back of the card to register it. I tried that, but they said it never was activated, never had money put on it. I called Walgreens gift card customer service and they instructed me to go get the electronic journal, which I did, and send a copy to them and they would activate the card within 3 days.

It has been three weeks, and they tell me I have to wait until after their "investigation". I paid $50, which Walgreens took, and has, and I have to wait who knows how long for them to figure out what happened?! They told me there was a communication problem between be their and Taco Bell's computers.

Why can they not reissue me a new card, and take this one while they figure out their problems?? Walgreens customer service is terrible!!

I am the OP of this. Walgreens replied today after their "investigation", they input the wrong card number, they were one number off of the card I was trying to activate.

They basically told me I am out of luck, because the card I have is the not the one they activated!! I am out $50!! Can they not see where they error occurred??!!

I am trying to get help from Taco Bell. I will never do any more shopping that I absolutely have to at Walgreens again!!

Something is not right here....Where's your receipts? It will show the number on the receipt as it is scanned by the computer (not by human input).

Sounds like you did not try to return the card originally purchased at Walgreens.

You should of received an activation receipt at the time of purchase from the card that was scanned by the computer. Where's the receipts?

I most certainly did have, and try to return, the original card. It took months for Walgreen's to finally correct the error.

The Walgreen's manager had to make a call to Taco Bell customer service.

They finally activated that card. If I hadn't been so persistent they would have been happy to just take my $50.

Poorly stocked store and incompetant employees

When you enter a Walgreen's it feels like you are going into a run down dollar store of the very lowest type, but without the benefit of the dollar prices . I checked your web site before going to the store. On arrival I looked very carefully for the Item, without luck. So I looked for help (almost not extant) I finally consulted a staff member in the pharmacy who seemed intellectually unable to work out what a tubular bandage was and kept showing me crape bandages. I suggested he look on your web site and he said I guess we have these but I don't know where they are. I left with a VERY LOW impression of your company and my wife had to suffer further day of blistering since I could not replace the adhesive dressing. This is not my first unproductive visit to Wallgreen's but it will be my last.

Really....If you couldn't get the bandages there its your fault if your wife suffered because you did not go get them somewhere else. Not every store carries everything that is on line.

Refill

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have the walgreens app on my phone. On the app it said 1 refill due. I submitted the refill which was 23 days from the last fill. When I got to Walgreens the medication was filled but the pharmacist said he wouldnt let me have it until 31 days. I will run out of medication before 31 days because there was 31 days last month. None of it made sense. Its a scedule 4 medication. I've gotten this medication filled every 23 to 25 days for the last year. Why all of a sudden the rules changed. Im changing pharmacies.

Black People Being Discriminated By Walgreen in Towson

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My name is Denice I also was discriminated against y Walgreens on Joppa road on 3/9/18. I was told by to of there Pharmacist that they will not fill my pain medication prescription because I lived in Baltimore city and not in there zip code. I also was refuse a refill in there system for my antibiotics because I lived in Baltimore city high drug& crime area and that I would have to go where I lived to get my medication. I ask why and how could they humiliate and discriminate against me because of my zip code of where I reside.I also ask the pharmacist to call my doctor to verify that my prescription was valid the pharmacist still refused to call a few fill in y prescription or refill my antibiotics. I told them them the only reason they were doing this is because of the color of my skin. The female pharmacist told me to my face that they were saving thier pain medication for people in there zip code which is the towson area. I ask her how can you hold medication for people that are not sick yet but refuse to help a person that is sick .The pharmacist laughed in my face and told me regardless of what I say Walgreens was not going to services me because of the area that I live in.The pharmacist told me that they have the right to pick and choose who they serve. I wanted to cry because all the other people that waiting to get there prescription s filled was white and some were whispering, laughing and staring at me Asif I was trash ! I have never been so humiliated in my entire life. I spoke with the store manager and he told me it was not right but his hands were tide . I was sent to another Walgreens by the store manager who knew the pharmacists at the golden ring mall area that was still not my zip code to get my meds filled. Something has to be done about this discrimination by Walgreens pharmacist. The only reason I we there is because the pharmacies in my area was all out of the medication that I needed.

Online Order

I purchased an item online at Walgreens at Airline and Parker in Houston. When the order came in, it was not the correct item I order. The store called and said I would have to come into the store and then return it for a refund. If I did not pick up the item within 21 days the store will send it back and it would take 30 days for a refund. Why would it take 30 days for a refund of $6.81 and for me to come into the store to ask for a refund when I never pick up the item? I guess it pays to read the reviews before shopping at Walgreens (this is the first and last time). Never heard of such--Unacceptable!

I will be reporting this I’ve never heard of a such thing An work at Kaiser Permanente this rule is so false an unreal. I will not let this go

in Wisconsin its a state law that you have to show a id to pick up a controlled substance

Guest

Nothing better to do? Stop complaining and move on.

Guest

in my state, if I go to a doctors office for the first time, they take my picture and it’s on file so that they know I am the same person on the insurance. Personally, I think ID should be shown for everything from voting to picking up prescriptions, any place where Freud could be committed.

Iopha

It's not illegal. They ask for your ID so they have a record of who is picking up the narcotics.

You get carded when you buy alcohol, don't you?

Same thing. Would you want just any stranger walking in off the street and swiping your mom's medications?

Guest

It’s a STORE POLICY not a “rule.” It is in place to prevent fraud. If you’ve got nothing to hide, then why is it so difficult to show them your ID?

Walgreens Denies Disabled Person Medicine

Its four in the morning. I haven't been to sleep yet. I am unable to sleep due to pain. I am having trouble with my heart beat because of the pain. I didn't mention in my previous text that I have a severe heart defect Wish Walgreens would have filled my medicine like they were supposed to.

So what is the entire story, OP?There has to be much more to this story. Why did Walgreens deny your prescription? What proof do you have that your prescription was denied because you are disabled?Did you contact your doctor regarding this problem?Exactly when did you try to get your prescription filled?

Theft by cashier

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On 3/24/18@6:47pm, store #07016 I purchased a Birthday card and $25 Red Lobster gift card. I gave the cashier a $10 and $20 dollar bill a total of $30.00.

The Bday card was $2.99. The total was $28.27. She gave me 0.73 change. When I got home and checked the receipt the cashier had $29.00 cash given by me the customer.

How is that not recognizable by the cashier. She knew I gave her 2 bills. She stole a dollar from me. How many people does she do that to a day.

I did call the Manager name Catherine and complained but she made lite of my concern. I informed the Manager that I would contact Corporate to complain and the Manager said,"I don't care." REALLY! I work to hard for my money and have bills to pay just like the employees at Walgreen.

The cashier name is Quadalupe, at least that's the name the Manager gave me. Now who is going to rectify this.?

Sounds ilke she accidentally made a mistake. Store can check this--they keep daily records of all cash.

But really what is the big deal over a dollar.

I understand that every dollar counts to some people but it very well could be just an accident and you are trying to give a person a bad name. Grow up.

Withholding my anti-depressant

Updated by user Apr 27, 2018

All is well. Just a mixed communication from my insurance and the pharmacy. I can pick up my meds in 1 hour.

Original review Apr 26, 2018
I usually get my refills from Express Scripts but because my Dr's office did not automatically refill, I realized I only had 2 left. I called the office where they gave me a refill for 30 that I could refill immediatley due to the withdrawls from Effexsor and then rest to Express Scripts.
I found out when I went to CVS, they no longer do TriCare so they faxed over my percription to Walgreens. (just across the street) Now Walgreens is holding up my percription to check on my insurance. I gave them all my information and still, my meds are not ready.
I am just starting to feel the withdrawal symptoms from Effexsor. Plus the weekend is coming. I told them I need these- they act so unintrested and bored with their job. They basically just shine me on.
I just don't know what to do. Why can't they just give me a few? I need these.

Pharmacy staff unfriendly!

I moved my prescription to Walmart because it was easier for me, and Walgreens got mad about it and would'nt deal with me anymore. I've had troubles with Walgreens staff losing my prescription, then told me I never dropped it off, just to cover their *** Thank God, most of my prescriptions come from the VA and are delivered USPS and UPS.

I'm certain there is more to this story. Let's hear it. I expect it would sound different from the pharmacies point of view.

I work in customer service so I'm always very polite to anyone working in that field. I was agitated that I had to come back twice after being told it was ready still I contained my fruatration.

More to the story is the guy was having a bad day and took it out on me, I would never ever do that to my clients and expect a return visit. Shame on him.

Riiiiiiiiight. Not buying it.

You were impatient and frustrated at the wait and lashed out at the pharmacist. I’m sure you worked in the CS field but in my experience those are the worst people to deal with as they tend to fly off the handle quicker then most. Just admit that you were pissy and lashed out and move on. What gets me is someone who supposedly working in CS acting out like you posted.

It shames you because YOU KNOW you acted like a self entitled dbag and then have the nerve to get offended by the response you received. It boggles the mind to think you have actually justified your behavior because you have labeled them. You stopped seeing the pharmacist as a PERSON! You didn’t see Bob who works as a pharmacist, you instead saw a pharmacist who was causing you to wait.

The robocall is automatically sent when the pharmacist starts working the prescription regardless of when they finish. Just because you were ready doesn’t mean your script was. Have you forgotten that you are not the only prescription they are filling? That maybe someone was confused and had to be instructed by the pharmacist.

Wasting the pharmacist time. That maybe a customer was having insurance or doctors issues that required more time away from actually filling those scripts? No you who supposedly worked in CS who has had to do the exact same things working your job can not see that.

Shame on you for turning into one of the sheep. Sad really.

Their policy of not filling scripts until the exact day that you picked up last month is stupid. If I’m out of town and can’t get in on that day what? Go without. I will never step in another Walgreens again.

That’s the law.

Iopha

That's a state regulation, not pharmacy policy. Adderall is a C2 and can only be dispensed on the day it's due.

Some states will allow an early refill by ONE DAY. They cannot bend the rules.

They cannot fill it two days early. To do so could very well cost them their license and have them facing very serious charges from the DEA.

Guest

I agree. EVERY month they give me some kind of crap about it.

I never go there before the 28th day to get my refill. And I know the pharmacist on duty is the one that makes the call, so I know that when that ONE lady is there with her minions, I'll get a snide "We won't be able to fill this until it's 30 days. The best we can do is one day early." Well, if you can fill it one day early, you can fill it two days early. That's not breaking any laws, you're just a judgy *** When I get the guy pharmacist, he NEVER gives me any problems.

He fills it right away and he's always nice. If I only knew his schedule.....

It is breaking some very serious laws, as a matter of fact. Try going to the DEA website and looking it up.

Same here in St. Petersburg, FL 5th Street Walgreens!

I've been on Adderall since I was 8, I'm now 28 and an elementary school teacher and Walgreens treated me like a criminal! The *** pharmacist was saying that my doctor didn't know what he was doing. Now I'm without a script because he wrote all over it!

Horrible company! Boycotting for life!

So after 3 weeks I finally went to the store to ask a pharmacist about this particular problem I was informed matter of factly that other locations indeed had supply's but the have not received any themselves so I should go to walmart or the local HEB or other competitor's to get the issue resolved.Simply due to the fact that they could not be bothered factly told me that other locations had the product but the simply overlooked the issue and that I should go to HEB or other stores cause everybody has

First they said that they had to talk to my Doctor about a prescription. A week later I was told they were still waiting. My Doctor had told me twice that the prescription was approved. I asked the Pharmacist who they contacted. It was my doctor from 2 years ago! and that doctor had told them I was no longer a patient! Recently I had 4 prescriptions to fill. They filled 3 and were waiting on Doctor's information for the 4th (which was not true). Out of three prescriptions one was wrong, I took it back and told them while they checked the system. Their answer was I had 7 days to tell them it was wrong and I missed the time frame. This place is TERRIBLE!
