Please let me share this about how I was treated in a discriminatory manner. I walked into a Walgreen's the night of March 18 in Farmington, NM, the one on 20th.

St. and Butler. They refused to sell me a bottle of wine. They said I walked funny and was inebriated.

I had just come from the gym, hadn't had a bit of alcohol for three days, and they said I was inebriated. I asked the evening manager to smell my breath and he wouldn't so I went next to him and breathed on him three times. He said he didn't smell alcohol. I am deaf in one ear and have balance problems and I told him that.

I walked in a straight line one foot after another for about seven feet in front of the door. He still wouldn't sell me alcohol. He wanted me to leave the store. I asked how is it he thought I was inebriated and still wanted me to get into my car and drive.

He said to just leave the store. Was it was racist as he is native and I am white? Was it also discriminatory because of my lack of good balance due to my deaf ear handicap? I told him to call the police.

I wanted them to confirm that I was not inebriated. The police arrived and said I was NOT inebriated, but to go somewhere else to buy my alcohol. So I left, because I did not want to create anything with the police. I was also really angry and didn't want to lose control.

However, this was quite distressing to me and also inconvenient to have to go somewhere else. I called corporate and they had the store manager call me. He apologized but backed up his employees who said I walked funny. I said it was not an apology but justification for his employees' poor treatment of me.

He said that all of this would not have happened had I just left the store. So now, his employees' poor treatment of me is now MY fault?

(Suppose I had MS or something that had me walking funny, as they said?) I called corporate back and they are going to contact the district manager. I just want Walgreens to acknowledge their mistake, apologize for their poor treatment of me, and offer me some kind of compensation that shows they value me as a customer and for my inconvenience.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

That is what I think it is as well. I smell troll here. The part where he claimed he breathed in the manager's face is a dead giveaway.

If you were breathing all up in my face and acting a fool over a bottle of wine I'd ask you to leave too. Making them call the police because of your hissy fit is a waste of their time and resources.

Looks like a duck ect. THEY are well within their rights to NOT sell YOU booze.

Get over it. YOU made matters worse by TRYING to defend YOUR position. Which was the complete WRONG thing to do. But hey even pretty special snowflakes are allowed to make COMPLETE FOOLS of themselves so don't feel bad.

YOU looked drunk, THEY must assume you are and NOT sell to you. But in the TYPICAL self entitled mouth breather mentality, YOU create AND expand on the *** factor. All YOU had to do was LEAVE and go some place else.

YOU created the problem and YOU THINK you deserve something for causing a scene because THEY wouldn't let YOU purchase wine. Hey yuppie, the 90's called and want their attitude back.

Hi, I am 66 years old and NOT a snowflake. As I said, I was wearing rockers which is the only thing that could have unbalanced me other than my left ear.

You have the empathy of a three week old dishrag.

It is easy to say go somewhere else, but what if you are under a time constraint, as I was, to jump into the car, go to another location, park the car, go out, find the wine, and purchase it. Wait until something similar happens to you.

They weren't "racist"---they just don't like cripples. Best to buy your booze elsewhere.
