Verified Reviewer |- - Reports prescription delays and inventory issues.
- - Pharmacist at Walgreens declined to fill; ethics complaint filed, corporate review urged.
They apologized for the wrong things. They explained their mistake, but made no real effort to correct it.
I switched pharmacists and pharmacy’s. But I’m going to let the pharmacy board judge and punish. Have an accountability discussion with your pharmacist when they say they are out of your medication. Based on my experience they are wrong 6 out of six times.
If the pharmacist threatens to not dispense your prescription after an accountability discussion, submit a complaint to the state board of Pharmacy.
Frequent prescription delays are a symptom of either a corrupt or negligent pharmacy. Reporting the gets results.
Multiple times in the past, they have declared my prescriptions 'delayed.' When I hold them accountable, they magically and immediately find my prescriptions. This last accountability discussion resulted in the pharmacist stating multiple times in our face-to-face conversation that he did not want to fill the prescription. When I told him to do what he ethically felt was right, he reluctantly completed the prescription (needles for the diabetic medications he filled earlier). After a display of painful internal turmoil caused by filling the prescription (I say this because he was caught in his inventory lies - for the 5th time), he told me I was no longer allowed to use the pharmacy I have used for 20 years.
I realize the pharmacist's behavior was unethical and yes, I'm filing an ethics complaint against him.
I do hope that Walgreens corporate recognizes the unethical and potentially fraudulent pharmaceutical care practices developing at this pharmacy and can intervene before the pharmacy's bad practices (there are multiple) turn out to be criminal or insurance fraud. I'm not advocating going somewhere else; I'm pushing for the customers of Walgreens pharmacies to demand better service and pharmaceutical accountability from their pharmacists at their pharmacies.
- Convenience
- Accountability
Preferred solution: Better service, NO LIES, better inventory control. Written permission to use their pharmacy again.
User's recommendation: Demand Accountability - It's the ONLY way to get your prescription filled

Verified Reviewer |Prescription finally filled but release denied
- - Drive-up refused wife's RX; my Florida ID expired; I will switch.
- - I've been a Walgreens customer for 50 years.
Yesterday, I stopped by the drive-up window as I always do to pick up my wife's monthly prescription. The pharmacy technician said it would be $13 and some change.
I gave my Florida driver's license, my credit card, and waited. The technician said that they could not release my wife's RX because my driver's license had expired. It is a valid state identification, issued by the free state of Florida. So, I went back today with my wife's driver license, her prescription card, and her Medicare card in hand.
They still would not let me pick up her RX. This company is stupid. Their employees are stupid. And, as I am a very old fellow, I have a very low tolerance for stupid.
I have been a Walgreens customer for about 50 years now. I will be changing to one of the many competitors in the area today.
They just lost my business, my wife's business, and my family's business and anyone else that I can come in contact with. Americans vote with their wallets.

Nothing seems all right half of the questions when you call don’t get answer I thought about only to another Walmart or CVS because the service here is ridiculous. 200 E. Roosevelt Park Illinois
- - Walgreens is mentioned with waiting for an order to be ready.
- - A suggestion to wait five days before it's ready is noted.
For example I gave Walgreens time to get my order ready almost ready but the vacation was but I didnt put the order here on the 14th as soon as I got it from the hospital and a suggestion wait for five days and then youll be ready gonna show someone that I could want you another Walgreens one I wish you company all at once Ive been
User's recommendation: . If an order is today future order if they can’t make it at least one phone call or email should be sent to. I waited from 9 o’clock morning last week till 430. Then they told me the water was being taken out and they told me it couldn’t be delivered. Just the driveway did come and pick it up. I suggested that podcast tonight anyway because I’ll stay here all day waiting something come

Verified Reviewer |Pharmacies almost lack of service
- - Prescriptions are delayed and often expire before they’re ready.
- - Prior authorization isn’t told until you call; autofill no longer works.
Every month when I'm waiting for my prescriptions something happens they wait too long to sell the prescription and expires or they'll say it needs prior authorization and they don't tell you until you call because they don't check your account anymore like they used to you could put it on autofill that does not work any longer. I have had to renew my prescription twice this month because it expired before they got my prescription ready and now it's approval and I'm waiting I call them and I'm on hold and they hang up on me and if I call back I have to go through waiting another hour for them to answer one time I had to wait 3 hours I have it recorded on my phone for proof.
I can't switch pharmacies because I take a medication at most pharmacies do not carry so I'm about a week late with my medication now. I read other reviews about them from people that work there and are quitting because of the way they get treated and they're 700 prescriptions in the rear and they can catch up and it's all because they took care of a rite aids customers I know someone had to do it but it seems like the pharmacy I'm going to had to take them all because some of the Walgreens pharmacies are shutting down around me.
They don't even train people they're hiring they just hire people and stick them in there because they know they're not going to stick around very long so they've eliminated the training process. I just don't know what to do about getting my prescriptions anymore they don't care if you're in pain or sick or anything and you need your medication.
- Uncaring pharmacy
Preferred solution: I would like to get better service and get them to hire more help so they're not 700 prescriptions in the rear because they're too cheap to hire some extra people.a person to answer the phone
User's recommendation: If you don't need a special medication that you can't get somewhere else just go to Walmart pharmacy they seem to have a nice pharmacy there I just can't get my pills there.
Prescription problem
- - Partial refill filled on 3.3.26; balance ready.
- - No call or texts about the balance; Blue Cross billing was incorrect; may switch back to CVS.
Partial refill was filled on 3.3.26. Here it is 3.21.26.
I've never received a call, text message, or email to say that the balance of my prescription is ready to be picked up. I'm going out of town on Monday, and I need that medicine because I'm staying with my family for at least a month. Then the pharmacist told me they had billed my Blue Cross insurance incorrectly, so now they're making it sound like I'm going to have to pay for each month separately, and that's a bunch of junk. I specifically switched to Walgreens because I heard nothing but good things.
Well, I think I may be switching my stuff back to CVS again. I hope you can help me with this and that I do not have to pay any additional money to pick up the balance of what they owed me on March 3, 2026.
- Pharmacy open 24 hours
- Pharmacist should look more closely at orders
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: For less headaches if you’re with CVS now stay with them if this isn’t resolved in a decent amount of time, I will be moving my stuff back to CVS

- - I will not buy from Walgreen's or Duane Reade again.
I just purchased Flonase at Duane Reade for $41.99, which seemed high and then checked pricing. Walmart had the same product for $27+; CVS for $33; and Walgreen's online for $31.99.
I will never buy anything from Walgreen's/Duane Reade again. Greedy pigs.

Verified Reviewer |Poor customer service. Lady at the pharmacy would not listen to me.
- - Phone call: diabetes meter claimed the prescription was too old.
- - Insulin pickup: staff irritated, didn't listen, longer line.
Earlier in the day I called to ask about a diabetes meter but was told the prescription was too old to fill. Tried to explain that a meter is not a prescription that expires.
Gave up. Later went to same pharmacy to pick up my insulin bet the same lady from the phone call was irritated thinking I was on continuing the same issue and I tried to tell her that this was not related to the phone conversation but she would not listen. I got frustrated as she was walking away instead of filling my insulin prescription. I left, went home to print the email telling me my prescription was ready for pick up and made it back to the store and had to wait in longer line than the first time.
The pharmacy manager took my info and told me to wait in line.
I think I was treated unfairly by having to go back to try to clear up the confusion. My time and gas is not free.

Verified ReviewerComplaints about Walgreens pharmacy
- - Tulsa Walgreens: rude care with late prescriptions, no internet/phone; plans to transfer meds and contact CEO Wentworth; claims of theft.
The pharmacy here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at 1438 north of Lewis Avenue is the rudest, the most terrible, and the most inconvenient care that they give to their customers. They never have prescriptions on time.
I've had a knee replacement and I have staples and stitches in my knee, and I had to drive this morning to come get my prescriptions only to see black cardboard in the windows saying 'no internet.' When you try to call, it says 'finalize not working!' Every time my doctor puts in an order for my pain meds, they always give excuses on why they do not have it ready! This pharmacy doesn't care about a person having withdrawals and pain; they don't even care about the elderly who have to catch an Uber just to pick up their medications. Most of the staff has been standing outside smoking cigarettes and drinking soda. SMH.
I'm going to write to the CEO; his name is Wentworth, and I'm going to let him know how the pharmacy in Tulsa, Oklahoma, treats people. So if you have serious health problems, this is not the place to get your prescription. I'm trying my best to get everything transferred to a much better pharmacy so I won't have to deal with their shenanigans! Please don't waste your time choosing this pharmacy.
They have wreaked havoc on my well-being. Now I will have to suffer this entire weekend because of them stating they have no internet or phone service, but yet they still have employees on the clock! I've already contacted all the internet service providers in Oklahoma, and they stated that they don't see any problems with Walgreens' internet or phone service. I will give this information to Mr.
Wentworth when I write him a letter because there is no other way to contact him, but he is the CEO! I'm sure once he finds out the truth about this Walgreens pharmacy, it will be shut down like the rest of them that are getting shut down! I heard our pharmacy techs are not real techs! Once they told my PCA that they did not have a pharmacist and that he had walked out, now that should tell you something about this pharmacy.
They are super ridiculous and don't have a care in the world about their customers. They seriously think it's a joke, and the medicines I take, I've been taking for years, so how is it possible that every time it's time for a refill, they say they don't have it? Sounds strange to me, and I think they need to be investigated because I think they're taking the medicine themselves and stealing it for themselves!
So if you don't want a huge headache and have to cry at night, please, please find a different pharmacy! If I could give them a zero, I would because they are pathetic and have no sympathy for those who have worked for 30 years and are now on disability due to injuries.
- Terrible place

User's recommendation: Please stay away from this pathetic rude evil pharmacy

Verified Reviewer |Horrible Service
- - Refilled seven meds on 2/7; by 2/10 only three were ready.
- - App flagged four meds as a refill exception.
- - Inventory halted fills; 200 ahead.
I am filing a complaint against an employee, Julie Ragan, who stated she is the 'Pharmacy Manager' at Walgreen's Pharmacy, located at 735 Cabarrus Ave W, Concord, NC 28027. I placed a refill request for seven prescriptions that I take daily on 2/07/2025 around 8 am using the Walgreen's Pharmacy App. I refill all seven of these at one time and place the order each month at the same time. I have been refilling these medications for several years now using this same app. I placed the order on the 2/07/2025 (prior to running out), knowing I would have enough to get me through the weekend, and planned on picking them up after work on 02/10/2025. I received a notification on 2/10/2025 at 3:45 pm that only three were ready for pickup.
I received a notification on 2/10/2025 at 3 pm via the app stating there was a 'refill exception' for four of the medications and I needed to contact the store. No more information was provided on the app. I called the pharmacy as instructed. After waiting around 20 minutes, Julie Ragan answered the phone. I was explaining to her that I put the refill request in Friday morning while I still had enough to get me through the weekend but I am now completely out of one medication and will need it for this evening (02/10/2025). I explained that's why I submitted the refill Friday knowing that would leave the rest of the weekend and most of Monday, if necessary, to get all seven refilled.
I don't know what the refill request exception was (and still don't) as there were refills left on all medications. I explained the situation and was told by Ms. Ragan that it's not going to be ready by tonight (2/10/2025). I explained the situation again and that I placed the order last Friday (2/07/2025) so this wouldn't happen. Then she proceeded to tell me they were doing inventory and there were 200 other prescriptions ahead of mine and that they're not filling any prescriptions at the moment. So then I asked what I needed to do to get the prescription filled? She then said I'm just going to have to wait until tomorrow (2/11/2025). I explained that was not satisfactory and that this was the entire reason I sent the request in three days ago, so I would not run out. It was obvious she couldn't care less. She just kept interrupting me every time I tried to talk so she wouldn't have to listen. I told her I didn't care that they were doing inventory and that has nothing to do with me or the other '200 prescriptions' waiting to be filled. I could understand if I waited until the day of or day before to request the refill, but this was the SOLE reason for doing it last Friday morning! Furthermore, if I tried to place the refill any sooner than that, it would have come back that it was too soon to request the refill.
I've had to deal with this on and off every couple of months and it's getting ridiculous. Everyone points the finger at everyone else. The drugstore blames the doctor; the doctor blames the drugstore. Why is this so complicated? This was NOT the situation today as the complaint I had is that the pharmacist can't refill a medication that she's had four days to fill! I asked to speak to a manager and Ms. Ragan proudly asserted that she was the manager. I then told her I was going to stop in there on the way home to get this issue fixed, and she said that she was not going to talk to me.
I was extremely frustrated and said that this is an ongoing issue. Ms. Ragan snickered and said, 'Well if you're not happy, I don't know why you would want to continue to try and get your medications filled here.' So now we have a 'Pharmacist' who I guess is a part-time comedian as well that couldn't care less about the entire situation. She has 'inventory' to take care of and is not filling the prescription, period! She doesn't care it's been 3+ days, that this is an ongoing issue and zero explanations as to why it hasn't been filled within this window. I still have no answers as to why in four days, ALL of these prescriptions were not filled. It seems it's just a big joke to her since she's snickering and offering wise cracks. So it became obvious that she was going to do everything in her power to be hard to get along with.
So as of today (2/11/2025), I called the Walgreen's Pharmacy located at 10 Pitts School Rd NW, Concord, NC 28027, to verify all my medications were ready. They proceeded to tell me they have four prescriptions ready and they were the same four that were ready yesterday from the Cabarrus Ave Walgreen's. The one prescription I needed yesterday they had no record of. So I called Ms. Ragan back at the Cabarrus Ave store. She answers and proceeds to tell me that they were transferred as of my request last night. I told her she knew the only reason I wanted the one medication transferred was so the medication I needed yesterday could be filled yesterday evening (since I was out).
So then she proceeds to tell me she'll refill the one main one I requested yesterday (and last Friday). I asked if the others would be ready at the Cabarrus Ave Walgreen's and she replied 'Yes'. I go this evening to the Walgreen's on Cabarrus Ave at 6 pm to pick up the medications and the employee at the window said there's only one prescription ready. Another employee comes to the window and then tells me I'll need to go to the other Walgreen's to pick up the other four medications. And the other two? Guess they're both invisible or just lost forever? So now it's become obvious, Ms. Ragan is just purposely making it more of an inconvenience for me to try and annoy me.
Oh, and as a little goodbye, she has another employee tell me they are no longer going to refill my prescriptions there. Which, that is fine, after yesterday, I was planning on sending my prescriptions to a completely different pharmacist. But, I think Ms. Ragan wants to make it as difficult as possible for me. And unfortunately, it's sad that she is bending over backwards just to make me jump through all these hoops to feed her comedic act. So that being said, in the age of online platforms and social media, I plan to share this experience with everyone possible on every platform possible, so they potentially don't have to deal with this sorry excuse of a 'Pharmacist'!
At this point, there is nothing to be provided. So for me, it's about making sure everyone knows whom they're putting their potential medical needs in the hands of.
I have been going to this pharmacy over 10+ years and know most of the staff really well. They know me on a first-name basis and always speak with me, ask me how I'm doing, etc. while I'm there getting my prescriptions. I've never had ANY problem with ANY staff there prior to all of this. But now after having dealt with this SORRY excuse of a Pharmacist, its beyond enraged me to the point where it's being addressed everywhere it can be noted. I hope she was successful with her inventory and that the other 200 prescriptions ahead of mine weren't a high priority. Julie, good luck with your upcoming comedy tour!

I am not with the same location but I have been having trouble with Walgreens for quite some time now since all the rite aids closed down anyway. They don't feel my prescriptions on time they don't care if I'm two weeks late with my medication I have to keep calling them to fill my prescriptions even though they're all the refill and they don't check on them today I was told when I called to see if I was going to get my prescription did they ordered it and it didn't come in they don't have it I said well when will you he said I don't know we don't have it we ordered it it didn't come in I said can you call another store and see if they have it so I can pick it up there he said no we don't do that and I know they do they've done it in the past ,he said you call I said I can't call about pain medications because they won't give you that information they won't let you know if they have it in stock he said yeah well we don't do it.
They screwed up my prescription order which was very dangerous. Apologies are not enough.
Hold them accountable. Their photo lab also went downhill and is inferior. Walgreens also tries to trick its own customers with fake SALE SIGNS. For example, regular price is $8.99 but the next week they jack it up to $12.99 for no reason and then have a "sale" sign under it for $9.99.
Disgusting, and this is throughout the store. The government should make this illegal. It is at least immoral and unethical in my opinion. The net weight of many store items is also much less than before, such as orange juice that was 64 ounces, then 52 ounces, now 46 ounces!
No lower pricing? Walgreens treats consumers as revenue targets and not valued customers. Too many mistakes and has an arrogant attitude. Dump Walgreens and go somewhere else to do your shopping and get your prescriptions.
Walmart is much better, and so many other places, too.
Walgreens used to be a good company but now WALGREENS US AWFUL! DUMP IT.
The store in Buffalo on Delaware Avenue near Summer Street should be shut down by the new company that took over Walgreens. That store has been mismanaged for years, has a bad attitude, and obviously does not understand its customers. Shut it down if not done already, it is awful and probably a big drag on company sales and profits.
While they are doing wrong,I doubt it has to do with them "hating" diabetic patients.
I'm glad we agree they are doing something wrong. Withholding diabetic medications and supplies they have in stock would be based on what kind of motivation? Please insert any other state verb you feel is appropriate.
It has nothing to do with hate.

prickless ***
Your post is vague and incoherent. How do you get from reluctance to fill/issue with a syringe prescription to criminal acts and insurance fraud?
Vague? It's a clear pharmacy ethics violation to not fill a prescription based on disagreement conversation.
It's an ethics violation to withhold prescription medication or items when they have them in stock. I'll let the State Board of Pharmacy sort this out. How did I get reluctance? He said more than five times that he didn't want to and shouldn't fill the needles prescription because of the accountability discussion he had with my wife.
As far as the insurance fraud, I'll let the AG sort that out, as not every detail was discussed in the post. This is not our first time being denied both medications and supplies by this pharmacy only to discover moments after an accountability discussion they have the medications and the supplies.
You are past your expiration date and don’t matter. Stay home away from everyone and use a mail order pharmacy.
Read the post more clearly then. I asked for an intervention BEFORE criminal activity or insurance fraud occurs.
