Walgreens in Madison, Tennessee - Customer Review

I accompanied a friend, who had surgery to Walgreens at the Neeley Bend street location in Madison, Tn., and witnessed the pharmacy tech (Johnathan) say that his prescription for pain medication could not be filled because he was not a regular customer and that he had last used the pharmacy in a year's time. My friend had indicated that he lived near by and that he came to the store for convenience. The tech indicated that my friend would have to go to another store, with no regard to him just having the surgical procedure or at least recommending that he speak to a pharmacist in the store. In short, my friend was dismissed with no respect to the thought that my friend or I (a regular customer) , could become a renewed customer. There was no business etiquette displayed here at all.

Walgreens has taken it upon themselves to arbitrarily over-ride my doctor's written prescriptions. The result is that I can no longer fill my pain prescriptions for TERMINAL pancreatic cancer at this so called "24 hour" "pharmacy" and if I am in pain late at night...

I am sorry that your pharmacist is trying not to kill you. But if you want to die early move to state that allows assisted suicide.

The pharmacist is checking to make sure that the dose is correct and that you are not being overdosed. If you die because of being overdosed it is the pharmacist fault first.

Think of that before you go off on not getting your pain med filled.

Its ironic how most of the complaints in this particular blog somehow involve a controlled substance. Everyone has their "oh woe is me" story but provides no precise details in the manner of why their rx was denied. What people dont understand is that pharmacist spend...

I had a major problem with them trying to get a shingles vaccination...not just the procedure itself, but some of their employees attitude was outright nasty.

As far as diagnosis goes, one of my docs said it's none of the pharmacy's business. They are charged with amount dispenses however (including non-prescription pseudofed, at least in my state :sigh )

Very well spoken! Yes, what they are doing should be a violation. Walgreens has managed to get away with more and more discriminate actions each year and have an "above-the-law" attitude.

I have been an employee at walgreens for 3 months. Most of the employees are black. I am the only white male there. The only other guy is a *** black guy who is offended at anything I say. During the first two months there I was very thankful for my job and proud of...

I agree, using names and such detail on a website such as this is in extremely poor taste and judgment. You could get into a lot of trouble for this.

In the future, at any job you have, find someone trustworthy from whom to get advice before you turn to a wide-open media. Call a manager at another store for advice, your loss prevention supervisor, your district manager, anyone else.
