This is the new thing to intimidate customers who smoke or buy liquor, etc. Best to not shop at these places.

Management is also afraid of selling these age-limited products to a minor and getting caught---thus the stupidity of "carding" granny or gramps because their employees can't figure out they should ask for ID for people who don't look 18 or 21.

Walgreen's is apparently going one step further and demanding a copy of your driver's license----rather dangerous, wouldn't you think? But, apparently Walgreen cares little for your privacy and risk of stolen identification.

I worked at Walgreens for a number of years and my husband still works there. I can tell you is that the stores are run much differently than they used to be.

Every retail store gets a certain allotment of hours, and these hours are what you use when you make a schedule. When a store is doing really well=making profit, they usually get budgeted more hours, which equals being able to have more people working. That's how it used to be. The budgets were bigger, so there were a lot more people working.

Slowly they started restructuring, cutting positions, having one position doing multiple jobs. Things changed and overall hours were reduced. It's hard to run a store with say a manager, cashier and photo person. That's at least three people gone from when I worked there.

Pharmacy took a big hit too and yet it's still the busiest place in the store.

Corporate cut down on hours and positions there too. What other reviews mentioned is probably the best thing to do.

Like millions of you, I take Metformin. Some months ago (2015) Walgreens corporate switched to a generic from a company named Amneal. The first time I got it, I was back to the doctor because of constant diarrhea. Prior fills were with Ascend brand. Solution was to insist on Ascend brand Rx fills. In spite of having this note in the 'system' and on my original Dr script, they can't get it right. At least four times in a row, now! Again, today. "Come back tomorrow and we'll have it for you." Now, they say system automatically defaults to the other brand; -- Oh so, no one actually reads any notes and you can't specify a brand. New solution is that I should not renew on-line/phone; rather "call and talk to a person directly." So much for technology.

I completely agree! Very dishonest and inconsistent pharmacist at Walgreens, they treat their customers like criminals and not to mention just rude!
